Message from Mrs. Harp
Penngrove Community,
Happy Mothers Day to all the mommies out there! I hope you enjoy your special day!
We have more incredibly exciting news- our fences are all down and we have access to the new buildings!!! 5th and 6th grade will be moving in over the next week, with an expected student start date of May 21st for the new rooms! AND we have full access to the yard again!
The next stage is to make ADA improvements to our staff parking lot ramp, remove the portables and extend the black top to reclaim our full yard! This has been a long, hard process, but we are in the home stretch and it is AWESOME!
The ADA ramp improvements will begin on May 21st. This *should* not impact traffic, but will make the area near the grove off limits. Please plan accordingly if you use that crosswalk to get your student to school. You can still use the crosswalk, and the walkway up, but the area around grove itself will be limited.
Please be sure to swing through the new buildings at Open House on May 22nd! The set up of the rooms rooms may still be "under construction" since teachers won't have had much time to decorate, but we want to get our community in there ASAP!
Lean in,
Carley Harp

Thank you to all the families who have already contributed throughout the year.
Our 2nd annual book swap is an awesome opportunity for every student to grab some free books for summer reading. Each class will have a chance to come in and take home books. Families are welcome to take as many books as they want during Open House.
Sign up to volunteer on Friday the 17th and help move the library into it's new home!
SUMMER READING ALERT
Every year Penngrove participates in a schoolwide wishtree inspired by this wonderful book.
Ask your student about it!
This summer we're trying to see how many Panther families can enjoy this story over summer break!
Stop by the office anytime for a free copy to take home.
It's a heartwarming and fun story to read together or solo and perfect for all ages.

Reading Kit Request
We're so excited to introduce Penngrove Reading Kits this year. This is a fun way to bring new books home to read as a family, support a struggling reader, encourage a love of reading, or just for FUN! If you're curious which kit would be best for your reader, don't hesitate to reach out to their classroom teacher.
Detailed description of these kits are here. Otherwise, feel free to browse the kits in the office or reach out to Mrs. M with any questions at amiljkovic@petk12.org. There are multiple kits at most levels with different titles to keep things interesting :)
Families can check out 2 kits per student at a time and return in 2 weeks.
