LCE Trail Guide
November 25th, 2024
Dear Liberty Creek Families,
As we enter the season of giving, we are reminded of the incredible generosity and kindness that makes our community so special. At Liberty Creek, we are excited to share several opportunities to support one another and spread holiday cheer:
1) Giving Tree
Our Giving Tree is now set up to help support families within our community. Feel free to stop by and pick up a tag to make a difference for a local family. Please see the attached flyer for detailed information on how to participate and when items are due.
2) Holiday Cheer for Staff
We’d love your help in spreading holiday cheer to our hardworking staff! At one of our stations, you’ll find holiday cards where you or your child can write a heartfelt note to their teacher or another staff member. These small acts of kindness go a long way in showing appreciation.
3) Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found area is overflowing with items waiting to be claimed! Please take a moment to check for any belongings that may have been left behind.
We also want to express our gratitude to Amanda Nelson, who has transformed our school entrance into a magical “Winter Wonderland” with her artistic talents. Her creativity has added a special touch to our school’s holiday spirit!
Additionally, we’d like to give a huge thank-you to Pawpular Companions Boutique for sponsoring the Surge Coffee Truck during conference week to treat our hardworking staff, as well as Avolon 24 Real Estate Group for providing a delicious lunch/early dinner for our teachers on our late conference night. These thoughtful contributions made a big difference for our team, and we are so grateful! Please consider supporting these amazing local businesses this holiday season—they truly embody the spirit of giving.
This month, we are thrilled to highlight our Character Crew, made up of dedicated 2nd graders who are spreading kindness throughout Liberty Creek. On November 13th, they helped us celebrate World Kindness Day with various activities. The Character Crew meets monthly after school to prepare lessons based on the character trait of the month, which they share in every classroom.
Additionally, they are working on service projects to give back to our school and community. Their focus this month is a "Students Helping Students" Canned Food Drive, with more details to come in this Friday’s folder.
We are so proud of the kindness and generosity displayed by our Liberty Creek students and families. Thank you for helping make this season so meaningful for everyone in our community.
Warm regards,
Alisha Alsaker

Attendance Matters
As we cherish the holiday season, we want to remind families of the importance of regular attendance. Each day at school helps your child grow academically, socially, and emotionally, building skills for a successful future. Your commitment to their attendance plays a vital role in their overall development.
Here are some tips to help maintain strong attendance in December and to ensure a smooth transition back to school in January after winter break:
- Plan Ahead: Schedule appointments or travel outside school hours when possible.
- Stay Healthy: Encourage handwashing, healthy eating, and rest to avoid seasonal illnesses.
- Healthy Sleep Habits: Gradually adjust bedtimes during break to prepare for early mornings.
- Prepare Materials: Help your child organize supplies and ensure they have everything they need for a productive return to school .
- Encourage Goal Setting: Work with your child to set achievable goals for the rest of the school year, fostering motivation and a sense of purpose.
- Open Communication: Share any updates or concerns with teachers that may impact your child’s attendance and/or academic success.
- Promote Positivity: Highlight the exciting aspects of returning to school, like reconnecting with friends and learning new things.
- Stay Informed: Keep up with school announcements and events to stay involved.
