End of Quarter 1
Quarter 1=40% of your overall semester grade
Quarter 2=40% of your overall semester grade
Midterm=20% of your overall semester grade
You can use this handy grade calculator here, to see what you need in order to achieve your desired grade for the semester. Your semester grade is the one that will impact your cumulative GPA.
What is a cumulative GPA? That is the running average of your semester grades since you began taking high school courses. This is the GPA that will be reported on your transcript and the one that colleges will view.
You have a weighted GPA, and an unweighted GPA. If you take any honors classes, AP classes, or CCP classes, they will be on a 5.0 scale. If you do not take any of those courses, then you will have a only an unweighted GPA which is on a 4.0 scale.
Email, or see your counselors if you have any questions.
Loving An Addict: Resources for Addiction Support
It is incredibly difficult to watch someone you love struggle with substance abuse. If you or a family member is struggling and needs support, here is a good resource for finding AL-ONON meetings in your area:
https://www.clevelandal-anon.org/meetings/
You can filter the results by location, day of the week, time, and type of meeting.
Their mission statement:
“The Al-Anon Family Groups are an anonymous fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems of living with an alcoholic, and to help others to do the same. We believe that alcoholism is an illness that can be arrested, and that changed family attitudes can often aid in recovery.
The only requirement for membership is that there be a relative or friend with a drinking problem. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions. At meetings a basket is passed to cover expenses, but contributions are generally modest and strictly voluntary.”
