Tomorrow is the final day of our Read-A-Thon fundraiser! Thank you for sending one last push to family and friends!
Class pictures are on Thursday. Students will be taking one picture with their classmates and teachers.

Spring Parent Teacher Conferences
Completing the below form will indicate your desire to have a conference for your child. Once you have completed this form, your child's teachers will contact you to schedule the specific time of the conference.
PreK Registration
Is your child going to be 3 or 4 years old by September 1?
Prekindergarten & Head Start registration opens March 1. MCPS offers an online registration process to support families who wish to apply for prekindergarten & Head Start programs. You will need to create a ParentVue account HERE to register or use THIS LINK if you already have an account.
You may also register in person from March 3- March 28, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at:

Please note, Harriet Tubman ES only has a prekindergarten class for 4 year olds but parents may register their 3 year old and be assigned to a school nearby.

Book Fair week is March 24-28th and is now open online!
Volunteers are needed for ALL time slots to ensure that all classrooms can visit the book fair! Volunteers will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to use at the book fair, PLUS all volunteers get 20% off their in-person purchases! SIGN UP HERE
In addition to the books available at our in-person fair, thousands of additional books and activities are available for purchase online! Visit our PTA Book Fair page HERE to browse! The fair will also be open on March 26th for Parent Teacher Conference Night for families who wish to shop in person!
Make in person purchases easy! Get your student a digital gift card HERE and avoid sending them with cash. The PTA will maintain a live, up to date, list of all students with gift cards and will coordinate with teachers to ensure students know when they can shop. No need to print the gift card or send it with your student!
Does your student have a gift card balance from the Fall fair? No problem! It automatically rolls over to the Spring fair and can be used in person or online!

Curriculum Nights
Math
The Elementary and Secondary Mathematics teams are hosting two Curriculum Nights, which will include information on math curricular resources, course programming for Grades K–12 and upcoming changes from the Maryland State Department of Education regarding Integrated Math. Attendees will also participate in learning experiences from the Eureka Math and Illustrative Math curricula.
The in-person sessions will be held:
Tuesday, March 18, 6:30–8 p.m., Wheaton High School, 12401 Dalewood Drive, Silver Spring
Wednesday, March 26, 6:30–8 p.m., Watkins Mill High School, 10301 Apple Ridge Road, Gaithersburg
Recordings will be available on the mathematics website on Monday, April 7, in English and Spanish.

Job Fair
MCPS is hosting a job fair for bus drivers from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17. The fair will be held at the Department of Transportation, 16651 Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville.
To become a bus driver, the minimum qualifications are:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Clean driving history; no more than one point on driver’s license.
At least three years of driving experience, with at least one year driving in the U.S.
Ability to meet all pre-service training and testing requirements.
Interested candidates are invited to create a profile on the MCPS Careers portal.
The Equity Center is offering a Grab and Go Food Distribution on March 8th and 22nd at Gaithersburg Middle School. The distribution begins at 7:30 am and will run while supplies last.
The Equity Center and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is offering free tax preparation services until April 19th. To request an appointment, use THIS LINK.
Karate
The Master Method Academy is offering a free 3-week karate program in March at all their locations: "KINDNESS & MARTIAL ARTS" for grades K-5. This program will focus on helping students develop and carry themselves with confidence, understand and handle bullying, treat others with kindness and respect, and practice some really fun and important introductory martial arts skills!

Montgomery County Recreation is Hiring
Montgomery County Recreation is beginning their hiring for 2025 summer programming. If you have family members 16 years old and up, visit the Montgomery County Recreation website for more information and to apply. Full-time, year-round positions are also available.
Tutoring
MCPS offers free virtual tutoring sessions through Stepping Stone Tutoring and the Montgomery County Public Libraries. Stepping Stone Tutoring offers free 30-minute weekly sessions. Montgomery County Public Libraries offers live online help everyday from 2-11 PM. Visit the websites for more information.
Montgomery County Groceries Program
The MC Groceries Program aims to help families access fresh and shelf-stable food items through a convenient online shopping experience. Families can place their orders online and have their groceries delivered or picked up through a partnership with Instacart Fresh Funds. Eligible households may receive $100 in benefits per month for each child 0-18 years old, up to $400.
Who can participate in this program?
To be predetermined as eligible for this program, households must:
Reside in Montgomery County
Have at least one child under the age of 18
Not receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Have incomes below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (e.g., $124,000/year for a household of 4)
