LEO Santa Toy Drive
Hello Fisher family. Parents, as we near the holiday season, Greenville County Schools is partnering with LEO Santa (Law Enforcement Officer) to collect new, unwrapped toys for the holidays for children ages newborn through 12 years old. We are proud to announce that Fisher will be one of those schools to help with the toy drive this year, led by our SRO, Officer Harrison. All of the toys collected will go directly to a child in need in Greenville County. Last year, GCS collected almost 5,000 toys! LEO Santa is a nonprofit run by volunteers, so GCS has a huge opportunity to make an impact and collect more toys than ever!
Throughout the year, LEO Santa supports families and neighbors by serving as personal shoppers for children affected by tragic events, like house fires, helping to put some of the pieces back to together.
Starting this coming Monday Oct 28th, students will notice a tall big green box with a red bow located in the sunken assembly for them to drop off new, unwrapped toys inside the toy collection box. On Dec 3rd, Officer Harrison will collect all the toys that have been donated and fill them in his patrol vehicle and deliver the toys to the LEO Santa warehouse.
Fisher Fam please help us fill the donation toy box with toys so we can give back to children in need for the holiday season and make a difference our community. So remember the dates October 28th - December 3rd

Fisher Family Photo Night
In conjunction with the Fisher Chili Supper, Fisher Middle School will be offering a family photo night! That's right, bring the family, dress it up, dress it down, theme it out; it's up to you! As the holiday season approaches we want to give families a chance to get a family photo with immediate or extended family. After your picture, swing on over to the cafeteria where you can enjoy the free chili supper sponsored by the SIC and provided by GCS FANS. It's going to be a great night and we hope you will join us.
IGP Information for 8th Grade Families
Eighth Grade Families,
It is time to schedule your student’s Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) meeting! IGPs are a state requirement for all students in grades 8-12. The purpose is to assist students with the transition from middle school to high school and beyond. All IGP meetings are conducted by a school counselor, with the student and a parent/guardian in attendance. This meeting is not part of the high school course registration process and takes approximately 20 minutes.
Here is a link to sign up for a time that best fits your schedule: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054EAFAA23A5F49-51140749-8thgrade#/. All meetings will be held virtually through Google Meet.
Parent Backpack
Parents are strongly encouraged to create a Backpack account for their children. Greenville County Schools uses Backpack to provide parents with the most recent news and information about our schools. The Backpack for Parents account also provides parents, guardians, or contacts with a central place to sign in to:
- View their student's information including demographics, attendance, classes, grades, lunch balances, and test scores
- Apply or register their student to Special Focus schools and programs (Fine Arts Center, Career Centers, etc.)
- Receive alerts and notifications regarding their students
- View their student's school and contact information
- Manage parent and contact information for their students

EVOLV
The EVOLV Detection System is used district-wide as a part of Greenville County Schools collective safety efforts. These are used primarily for weapons detection. All schools partner with the GCS Security Department as well as local law enforcement agencies. As parents you can expect that we will run EVOLV a minimum of once per week but more often we will run screens multiple times per week. These screener sessions will remain completely random and will always be unannounced. We will often conduct an EVOLV Intake which is conducted as students enter the building before school at all student entrances. During an intake students should remove their Chromebooks and carry it in separate from their backpack.
Please know that school administration maintains regular contact with GCS Security in our continued efforts to ensure school safety.
