Things to Ask & Talk to Me About...
- What did you share at morning meeting on Monday?
- What new patterns are on our calendar? (Leaf patterns, the directions of leaves change each day, the colors change, and the number of leaves change)
- What do we use to count the days of school? (Red and blue stickers, red and blue chain links)
- What was your favorite story to listen to?
- How did you get an Eagle Feather?
- Can you sing me the song/show me the hand motions for each letter and letter sound? (Students that went to 4K know most of them, in kindergarten we have gone through the letter "W".)
- Who was the feather slip winner on Friday? (Josey)
- What was your favorite activity from our "all school" field trip to Camp Minikani? (nature walk, field games, learning about bats, learning about skulls and furs, or bug catching)
- Who did you sit by on the bus?
- Where did you eat your lunch?
- What was your favorite "Spookley" treat? (ice cream orange soda float, or graham cracker/frosting/cookie)
- How did you make your "Spookley" pumpkin? (We used our fingers to paint the pumpkin, then used construction paper for the stem, leaves, and eyes.)
Other Information
- On Thursday, October 17th, our entire school will participate in a "Fun Run" as an incentive for filling our Eagle Feather jug to our goal line! Our Phy-Ed teacher, Mrs. Seaman, has set up some fun games and activities for all kids to partake in. Each grade level participates during different times in the afternoon.
(REPEATED Information)
- McTeacher Night is October 31st! Come to the McDonalds on Main St. Between 4pm-7pm to earn money for Decorah school! I'll be working the 4:00-5:30 shift, and I hope to see you there!
- We have library every Thursday. Books should be returned by the following Wednesday (or sooner).
- Homework comes home most Fridays and is due the following Friday. Please do not spend more than 5-10 minutes on it. If it is too hard for your child, stop, jot me a note, and don't worry about it!
- If you have gently used clothing to donate to our clinic, our health room can always use it! They are also always in need of underwear for students that may have accidents.
- I linked, below, the song we listen to while we practice number formations. Warning before you play it: the song will be stuck in your head! :)
