PTO Corner

The student council has organized a "Mega" food drive to collect non-perishable items (canned items, pasta, etc.) and individual snack foods (pretzels, chips, cookies, trail mix). Students can bring in items starting December 19th through January 26th. If you would prefer to drop items off at GES, label them with “Miss Beckner” or “food drive”. These items will benefit students in our district and even our own school!

BIG news! The PTO-funded Book Vending Machine has officially made its debut, bringing a world of stories to our hallways Here's how the magic happens: When a student receives a token, they get the exciting opportunity to choose and keep a book from our book vending machine. It's like a treasure chest of stories waiting to be unlocked!

As for the distribution of our 260 tokens:

* 200 tokens have been divided evenly among our 40 teachers for classroom rewards, ready to be given out at their discretion.

* Instructional Assistants and front office staff will also share the joy with tokens. Keep an eye out for these special moments!

We celebrated the completion of NWEA testing with Testing Treat Tuesday on December 12th! Thank you to the volunteers who helped pass out popsicles during lunch!

We partnered with the Fishers Police Department for our "Kids Helping Kids" winter service project during the classroom Winter Celebrations! Each classroom assembled goodie bags filled with items for kids. These goodie bags were then donated to the Fishers Police, where they will keep the bags in patrol cars and at the station and give them to kids when the need arises.

Thank you to the Fishers Police Department for visiting classrooms throughout the day and to Sarah Pilli for organizing such an awesome project!

Before winter break we were busy spreading cheer around the school as we delivered charcuterie boxes to all staff members. Thank you to the many PTO members who came in to assemble and deliver these boxes so we could show our appreciation for the incredible staff at GES!

We welcomed staff back from winter break with treats and caffeine! Thank you to our 2nd grade families for helping us stock the lounge this month! Your donations are greatly appreciated! Keep any eye out from your room parents with a sign up link during your classes assigned week.
