What's Happening?

Can you believe that we're at the end of January already? This month has flown by! We hope you've enjoyed this month of new beginnings and your family is doing well. There are a lot of exciting updates and things that are happening over the next few months, so please take a minute to carefully review this newsletter and reach out if you have any questions.

Exciting Changes for the 2020-21 School Year!

Budgets: Starting in the Fall, budgets will no longer be divided into Core, Elective, and Flex!! We'll still look at budgets on a family level, and you'll still be able to submit as many times as you'd like during the year.

High School: 9th and 10th grades are being added in the Fall! There are still many details to work out with IHLA, but it's going to be awesome! We hope this comes as exciting news for many of you.

On-site program - Treasure Valley (Boise Area). We're developing an onsite program for those who live in the Treasure Valley. More details coming in the spring!

Online Classes - We'll have some science classes and other offerings for those who may be interested.

Reimbursements & Internet Stipend

A couple of reminders about reimbursements:

Receipts submitted by Mondays at midnight are processed on Tuesday and paid out by Wednesday.
Receipts show up "paid" in the system as soon as we send payment, not when the funds should actually be in your account. Most of the time, funds will hit your account two days after payment has been sent--usually Friday.

Internet Stipend

We're now processing the 1st semester internet stipend!

Documentation for all five months (August - December) needs to be submitted at the same time. It's $250 for the 5 months or $50/mo. Please review the Internet Stipend guidelines here.

Now Enrolling & Re-Enrolling!

We are now accepting new students! If you have friends or family who may be interested in what Overture has to offer, please send them our way. We'd love to help!

The Enrollment and Re-Enrollment process is being streamlined for Fall, and you'll register as a returning student for the 2020-21 school year through a link which will be sent out directly from IHLA via email on February 6th.

As soon as IHLA shares the registration link with us, we'll put together some resources that will make the process go more smoothly for you. Watch for more info during the next week.

Calling all teachers!!! If you or someone you know is a licensed teacher (current or expired), please reach out to jen@overturelearning.com. She'd love to talk with you. We're looking to add more elementary and secondary teachers to our team next year and would love to work with you!

ISAT Scheduling & Resources: Over the next few weeks, we'll be sending details on ISAT scheduling for your area as well as tools to help you prepare. Many of you are already working with your teacher on practicing/preparing for the IRI and ISAT, but we just wanted to let all of you know that if your student takes any practice tests such as the IRI or ISAT--they can be used as one of your submissions in that area for the month!!! If you're interested in doing this, work with your teacher--she can help put these submissions in for you as well.

Online Learning Programs: Just a reminder that all students have access to Brain Pop, Generation Genius, Super Teacher Worksheets, and Imagine Math. These are some great tools for your family.
