Principal's Message:
We close out the month of May with our Spring Carnival this Friday from 5pm to 7:30pm…we hope to see you there! During this month, students and teachers devoted time to state testing, along with our regular projects, assignments, and unit assessments. May has also been a month filled with celebrations as we honored Asian American Native Island Pacific Islander month, Jewish American Heritage month and Mother’s Day. We look forward to our remaining 11 days together with upcoming June celebrations: Global Day of Parents, culminating 5th graders & end of year 5th gr. celebrations, Father’s Day, Pride Month, and Summer Solstice! Yearbooks get distributed in June. Let’s finish the 24-25 school year as strong as we started!
Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 8th Ryhthms of Tomorrow
Celebrate Black Music Month with live performances and storytelling from Black Portlanders
Uplift Black history and culture in partnership with the Albina Music Trust
Help 5th Gr. families prepare for the transition to middle school with key guidance and resources

ParentVue Enrollment (REMINDER!)
PPS is making sure families don’t miss out on important communication regarding report cards, test scores, and attendance.
Here’s some helpful information for PPS families:
To sign up for a ParentVUE account, visit https://www.pps.net/parentvue.
To verify your student’s enrollment for the fall, visit the PPS ParentVUE page, click on the “Yearly Verification Form,” and log in using your ParentVUE username and password.
On the final page of the form is a drop-down menu where you can indicate if your student will be returning to a PPS school this fall.
When registering for ParentVUE, you may need to contact our main office to ask for your “activation key,” a unique passcode that protects student privacy.
For more guidance, check out this step-by-step guide.
If your student is absent from school, please email Forestparkattend@pps.net or call (503)916-5400 and give your student(s) name, teacher name and reason for the absence, along with duration of absence if the absence is planned.
THE FUND FOR PPS’S $1M INVESTMENT FOR 2025-26
The PPS Board of Education approved the investment of $1,030,000 from The Fund for PPS’s Champion PPS Schools on May 6th, 2025. Funds raised will continue these investments and expand to more schools for future years. We will only be successful if the PPS community joins us in this effort to improve the educational experience for all students. We are Stronger Together! More information HERE
