From Miss Angela
Dear VAP Families,
What a great first week back we had! It has been wonderful to see our students return with enthusiasm and energy as we kick off the new year.
We are thrilled to share that this weekend, our Science Olympiad team competed at UC Riverside in the annual Science Olympiad event. All of our students did an amazing job, but we'd like to give a special shoutout to one team in particular. Lila and Shreya placed 2nd out of 39 teams in the Air Trajectory event, where they built a catapult to launch toward different targets. They were able to get extremely close to multiple targets and secured a fantastic 2nd place finish. Congratulations to Lila and Shreya, our Science Olympiad team, and our incredible teachers for their hard work and support!
Looking ahead, this Wednesday, January 15th, we have several exciting events planned throughout the day. At 8:45 AM, we will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the unveiling of the new playgrounds at Kid's World. Later in the morning, at 10:00 AM, Kid's World will hold a special First Responders event, where all preschoolers, kindergarten, first and second-grade students and their families are invited to attend.
Later that evening, we will also be hosting our annual open house event from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This opportunity will provide prospective and current families with an opportunity to tour the campus, meet teachers, and ask questions. We encourage you to invite friends or family members who may be interested in joining our school community.
This Friday, Middle school students can look forward to dancing the night away at the Winter Dance, which will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the school gym. Tickets are $20 in advance (available in the office) or $25 at the door. Don’t miss this exciting evening filled with music, friends, and memories.
Additionally, our hearts are with all those affected by the recent wildfires. We want to support any families in our community who have been personally impacted. If you or someone you know has experienced a loss due to the fires, please fill out the form down below and let us know their specific needs. Once we gather this information, we will share a list of items or support opportunities with our families who wish to help. Together, we can make a difference.
For more information on upcoming events and activities, please check out the flyer below or visit our school website. We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow and look forward to a fantastic start to the new year!

Word of the Month: Teamwork
Teamwork in Action! Last Week, our Kindergarteners partnered up with 2nd graders to tackle a fun activity on clocks in Seesaw. It was amazing to see the older students helping their younger buddies, sharing knowledge, and working together to learn. Way to go, everyone!
California Wildfires: Supporting Our Community
Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the recent wildfires. We know the devastation has touched many lives, and as a community, we want to come together to support those who have been personally affected.
If you or someone close to you has experienced a loss due to these wildfires, we want to help. Please fill out this form HERE and let us know what specific needs they may have.
Once we have gathered this information, we will share a list with all families who may wish to contribute donations or support. Together, we can make a meaningful difference during this challenging time.
Thank you for being a part of this caring community.
