Class placements for 2024-25
I know this time of the year parents start thinking about placements for next year. At Riebli, we do not take teacher requests but work extremely hard to ensure each student is in the best place for his/her learning. We consider academic levels, social interactions, learning styles, friendships, and all other information we can gather to make the best classes possible. We strive to make balanced classrooms full of students who love learning! I also ask that you do not contact your current teacher about placement for next year. They are so busy with finishing up this year, that we will not be doing placements until the end of the school year. Reaching out about teachers for next year can put teachers in an awkward situation with their colleagues. The teachers help me make balanced classes and I assign the teacher names to the classes.

Wellness committee
Hello Parents,
The Mark West School District is actively looking for parental involvement in serving on our District Wellness Committee. The Wellness committee meets 2-3 times a year for 1 hour each meeting via zoom. The Wellness committee helps to promote the belief that foods and beverages available to students at district schools should support the health curriculum and promote optimal health, taking into consideration the needs of students with special dietary needs.
We need your help to continue this goal. If you would like to serve on the District Wellness Committee please reach out to Kelly Sansone (ksansone@mwusd.org) to join or with any questions.
Bathroom use after school

Music News
Bravo to all the student musicians who played for Music Appreciation Day last Saturday at the LBC Farmer's Market! Students from the four district schools showed up, listened to each other, and played music together, having never rehearsed even once together as a full group beforehand. Playing outdoors also presents unique challenges - e.g. wind, sun, and heat - but the students managed all these challenges with grace and professionalism! Bravissimo! And a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our student musicians! We couldn't do it without you!
Don't forget - all 4th-6th music students have one more performance coming up next week! Parents are welcome to attend, but please be sure to check in at your school's office as a visitor as the performance times are during the school day. (There are no evening performances.) Please help your child remember their instrument (and return any books!) on the following days:
San Miguel - Monday, May 20 - music assembly at 11:00 am
Mark West - Tuesday, May 21 - music assembly at 11:00 am
Riebli - Friday, May 24 - music assembly at 10:45 am
Borrowed instruments and materials must be returned immediately following the above performances, so please do NOT forget them on these days. Thank you!
