District 103
Important Notice Regarding Excessive Heat This Week
Dear Families,
I am writing to inform you about the excessive heat that is expected to affect our area throughout the week. According to weather reports, the heat index is forecasted to reach a high of 115 degrees Fahrenheit on some days this week.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all students during this time:
Children are encouraged to bring water bottles to school daily to stay hydrated.
Outdoor activities will be limited to protect students from heat-related illnesses. This includes recess, physical education, and any other outdoor events.
All afterschool activities that involve outdoor participation will also be restricted or moved indoors. Specific programs will communicate any changes directly to you.
Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the heat, and remind them of the importance of staying hydrated.
We will continue to monitor the weather conditions closely and adjust our plans to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Thank you for your cooperation and support during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school.
Stay safe and cool!
Sincerely,
Scott Warren, Ed.D.
