ELC at George Earle Weekly Update

The kids all had Bus Safety lessons this week in library with Mrs. Fraze and SRO Joe (aka Pigeon) They LOVED getting to tell that Pigeon "NO!" over and over when he tries everyway he knows how to get to try and drive that bus! It's a great way to have some fun all while learning about all the safe things to do on and near a bus! One of our biggest discussions is where and how to walk around the bus and where the danger zones are so they stay safe while getting on and off the bus!

The ELC works hard on character education for all of our students. We are beginning the school year with a lesson on bullying and hitting. Mrs. Gutierrez will be visiting classrooms and presenting the story, "No More Hitting For Little Hamster" to demonstrate appropriate behavior and talk about why we don't hit others, ever. The book does a great job at illustrating the feelings and consequences from hitting; it's concept can be applied to all bullying behaviors.

Has your child ever wanted to go into a GAMETRUCK?!? We are starting the year off with an awesome opportunity for them to be able to here at school! This is an awesome fundraiser that helps us earn money for our school. We hope everyone will buy at least the 1 book they are sent home with. If you are not interested in participating, please just stick a little note on the coupon book that says "Not Interested" and leave it in their red folder to be returned to school the next day.
