Message from Principal Blagg
Good afternoon Parker Families:
It was another whirlwind week at Parker Middle School as we wrap up this amazing school year. When visiting classrooms this week I have observed some truly wonderful culminating activities that highlight what the students have learned while cementing their sense of community. We are so fortunate to have such a fantastic staff and such amazing kids.
PRIDE Wall Inductees
We celebrated our students who will be enshrined on our PRIDE Wall for serving as role models to their peers through demonstrating perseverance, respect, integrity, and empathy. The honored students enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with their parents. Congratulations to Grade 6: Logan Benjamin, Leanna Cate, Emme Coddaire, Koliahn Dinh, Morgan Fink, Alexander Hamelin, Hailey Kulah, Catherine McCreery, Weston Meas, Maahi Patel, Zoya Pathan, Callie Perry, Saisha Prabhu, Kira Taylor, Bella Tham, Ava Wildt ~ Grade 5: Kriti Adatrow, Natalie Devito, Arya Fearon, Elyse Jean, Marina Lusakhpuryan, Olivia DeRosa, Cole Muccini, Johann Pacheco, Olivia Pappert, Suchetha Ram, Elizabeth Ruete, Aily Surapaneni, Arya Upadhyay, Maeve Ward, Kyle Werner, Bridget York ~
Newhouse Wildlife Rescue
Our sixth-grade students walked to the CHS Performing Arts Center for a wonderful presentation by our Chelmsford based animal rescue organization. The presentation was informative and interactive. The students loved it!
Best Buddies
Our Best Buddies new chapter celebrated a wonderful first year with a trip to Sully's. Under the direction of Alexandra Hansbury, our Best Buddies Club was recognized as the Best New Rookie Chapter in Massachusetts. Our school was chosen from over twenty other new chapters statewide and is now in consideration for the national award. We are so proud of you all for helping to create an inclusive and supportive community here at Parker!
Woo Sox Game - Parker Music Department
The Parker Select Chorus, Festival Band, and Festival Orchestra all performed the national anthem at the Worcester Red Sox game yesterday. Our kids, under the direction of Eric Linsner, Martha Robertson, and Lisa Tiano, blew everyone away with their musicianship and energy. A great day was had at the ballpark. We are so proud of you all!
Field Day
We had a fabulous Parker Field day today thanks in large part to our excellent Physical Education staff under the direction of Katie Simes. Mike Sullivan, Garrett McCarthy, and Matt Colomba organized the games and activities and were supported by our supportive parent volunteers. It was truly fantastic seeing our kids have so much fun together with their classmates and teachers.
Scheduling for Next Year
We are finalizing our scheduling for next year. There are many variables that go into ensuring our students are placed on a team that will help them gain independence and confidence as learners. We will share assignments as soon as we can. After assignments are shared there will be little to no movement. Please know much thought and consideration have been dedicated to this practice.
I hope that you and your family have a wonderful summer. May the days be long, lazy, and filled with wonder. It has been a pleasure and privilege serving as Principal this year!
Warm regards,
Josh
