• Tomorrow morning (10/26) - Kick-off meeting for our 2023 Auction Committee at 8:30am at Mikko (1636 R St NW). For more info, contact Libby Franklin (libbyjanefranklin@gmail.com).
• Thursday evening (10/27) - Ross's annual Spooktacular Halloween Celebration, starting at 5pm on the Ross playground and field. We need 3 more volunteers to help with games - sign up here!

Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Fall for Ross fundraising drive -- we are now 78% of the way to our goal of raising $50,000! This is phenomenal progress. We just have a little further to go!

The class competition doesn't have any winners yet, but there's still a week to cross the line. Every class that reaches 100% participation by Nov 1 will win an extra recess! (100% participation means that all families from that class have made a monetary donation of any amount through the Fall for Ross drive.) Below are current standings.

We ask all Ross families to consider giving at least $600 ($50/month) to help the PTA continue to deliver strong programs in support of Ross and our community. If $600 isn't possible for your family, please contribute what you can. Everything helps!

In addition, everyone who makes a donation of any amount from Oct 11-31st will be entered in a drawing to win one of two pizza dinners for 4 at Pupatella. And everyone who donates will receive a coupon for a free Pupatella pizza. Don't miss your chance! Donate today!

At 5pm on Thurs, Ross students and families will meet in costume on the Ross playground for games, crafts and prizes until 6pm! Kids must be accompanied by parents at all times, and no toy weapons, please. Siblings are welcome to join!

At 5:45, we'll head out for a Trick-or-Treating Parade, supported by businesses on 17th St.

Following the parade, join us for an after-party and dinner at Pupatella pizza restaurant from 6-8pm! Get your tickets here ($25 for adults / $15 for kids). Each ticket includes an appetizer and choice of several pizzas (with a vegan option), plus drinks for adults.

Ross is running in Miriam's Kitchen's annual Run 4 MK race on Sat Nov 12. The event will drive awareness and raise funds to help end chronic and veteran homelessness in DC.

Races include a 5K, 10K, and a Kids Fun 500M Dash that will take place alongside the C&O Canal in Georgetown.

The next virtual meeting of the Ward 2 Education Council (W2EC) will be Wed Oct. 26 at 7pm. At-Large Councilmember Robert White will be joining as the chair of the committee overseeing the city's building maintenance to talk about school facilities needs.

The agenda also includes:

• Safe Routes to School issues, including a Walk & Roll To School Day recap, recent Council actions, the DDOT safety walk at Seaton, and the Safe Routes petition
• Any other school community issues
