Annual Athletic Showcase Night
Our Athletics Department will be hosting our annual Athletics Showcase Night for incoming 9th graders and the community. The Showcase has been scheduled for May 1st at 6pm. To start the night, we will be informing parents about the transportation fee, fare share donations, athletic clearances, and eligibility. Once the presentation is over, parents and athletes will have the opportunity to meet head coaches and current student athletes in their sport of interest.
Rowland Shoutout
Thank you to MLB legend Wally Joyner for sending some major league good luck to our Rowland High School baseball team!
Men’s Tennis Completes Regular Season On a High Note
Coming off a historic season, the men’s tennis team reloaded with six new varsity players. The team understood that although last season was magical, it was necessary to move forward. They worked extremely hard and competed against some of the nation's best schools. They ended their regular season play with a 15-3 overall record, thus qualifying them for the upcoming CIF Team Playoffs.
They also competed in the Valle Vista League for the first time since the 2019 season. This year’s team went undefeated in the new league to earn the 2024-2025 Valle Vista League Championship. They are led by senior captains Connor Park and Jatin Yang. The boys' next round of competition is scheduled for next week at the Claremont Tennis Club, where they will participate in the Valle Vista Individual Tournament.
Congratulations to the team for their hard work and dedication to the program. Best of luck competing in the CIF playoffs!
Boys Golf - Valle Vista League Champions
The Rowland High School Boys Golf Team should be recognized for their incredible accomplishment this season, winning the league championship with a 5-1 record. This marks the first time since 1989 that the boys' team has captured the title, making it a historic achievement, ending the 36-year drought.
Coach Gillian Mendoza is extremely proud of their accomplishment. "This being my first year as head coach, it has been an honor to lead such a hardworking and dedicated group of young individuals. Beyond physical skill, they demonstrated remarkable mental strength, bouncing back from tough situations and learning to trust themselves in high-stakes moments. Their commitment to improving both individually and as a team has been the driving force behind this success, and they deserve to be celebrated for their resilience, growth, and passion for the game."
