Saturday, October 14
- Homecoming Dance 8:00-10:30 p.m.
- Dance tickets are ONLY available online. No cash ticket sales at the door. The tickets are $15 and can be purchased here: Click Here
- Please bring your student ID or your digital ID on your cell phone's IC account. This will be verified to enter the dance.
- If a student brings a guest from outside of the Lakeville School District, the Guest Form needs to be filled out and returned in advance of the event. These can be retrieved from the Dean's Office or you can print a copy at home (Click Here). No guests over 20 years old.
- Doors open at 8:00 p.m.
- No entrance after 9:00 p.m.
- No re-entry (once a student leaves, they may not re-enter).

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test The PSAT/NMSQT is a 2-hour and 45-minute test that measures skills in evidence-based reading, writing and mathematics that are important for success in college and can qualify juniors for National Merit Scholarships. Scores are also used to gauge readiness for PSEO opportunities.
Lakeville South will be hosting the PSAT test on Saturday, Oct.14 and Monday, Oct. 30 both at 8:00 a.m. The cost of the test is $35. If you are interested in taking this test, go to your Campus Portal and follow the instructions below to register and pay for the test.- Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. (registration deadline Oct. 6)

π Girls' Tennis went 2 and 0 this week in section play. They take on Lakeville North on Tuesday, Oct. 10 @ 9:00 a.m. at the Lifetime in Bloomington. When they defeat North, they will then play for the section championship at noon vs. the winner of Rochester Mayo and Stewartville. Good luck Cougars Tennis!
- π Chad Bieniek, Co-Director of Bands, has been recognized by Region 1AA as its "Fine Arts Distinguished Award" recipient. He will be recognized at a luncheon this Thursday, Oct. 12. Congratulations Mr. Bieniek!

- Global Issues Student Union (GISU) Together we will bring awareness and support to global crises occurring in 2023-2024. Interest meeting: Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 2:45 - 3:15 p.m. in Room C306.
- HOSA (Future Health Professionals) Registration for our HOSA chapter ($55) is due this Thursday, Oct. 12. Registered HOSA students can also sign up for the HOSA Fall Leadership Conference (FLC). The conference costs $90 and is also due on Thursday, Oct. 12. These can be paid in the School Store on your Campus Portal.
- What is FLC? FLC is all about building connections and realizing your interests in the medical field. The 2023 MN HOSA Fall Leadership Conference is held on Friday, Nov. 3 at the Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center. Within FLC, there are various technologies to experiment from, demos and guest speakers, and a multitude of stands and companies to learn from. Some examples include realistic demos on giving birth, information on volunteering, CNA training, and job opportunities. There are also displays of most surgical tools used in live surgeries. Most importantly, FLC is a great opportunity to experience what HOSA is all about and make connections with members from other chapters. With various social and educational events, FLC is the place to set the stage for your HOSA journey.
- π Journalism Club's recent publication, "The Big Catch that is Lakeville's Fishing Team." Senior, Jaden Rust and freshman, August Timmerman worked on reporting and writing this one.
- Latino Student Union LSU is a club where Latino students can get together and build a community. We have events/meetings every month with different themes. Anyone can join! We will be having our first meeting Wednesday, Oct. 11 during 6th hour. Sign up here to attend and be excused from class.
- Math League Students interested in joining the LSHS Math League Team should attend a brief informational meeting from 2:45-3:00 p.m. after school on Monday, Oct. 16 in Room C210. Please see Mr. Liberty if you are unable to attend.
- π Mock Trial Congratulations! Our Varsity team competed in a national tournament last weekend, going up against teams from Minneapolis, California and Florida. We went 2-2 and Isabelle Hentges won Best Attorney and Mady Bergstrom won Best Witness.
Spanish Club Next planning meeting will be Monday, Oct. 16 at 2:45 p.m. in Room C207. We will be planning our next TWO events.
Student Voices Are you interested in learning about different cultures and promoting a welcoming environment here at South?
