Early College High School News
Mission Statement
Our ECHS Owls are taught to have H.O.P.E.--faith in the premise that they can create OPPORTUNITY and a better future through EFFORT, HARD WORK, and PERSONAL COURAGE. This idea of H.O.P.E. is woven into the fabric of our ECHS family.
Greetings ECHS School Community!
It has been a productive first full week of the 2024-2025 school year. We are very proud of our Owls for a strong start within their high school classes.
Last week, Mrs. Ross and I had the pleasure of visiting some classrooms where our students were collaborating, questioning, and processing together. Seeing active classrooms is the best and our teachers are doing a great job of supporting all students while making learning engaging and interactive! OWL Friday, August 23rd, began Week #1 of our ECHS Club Rush! This was an opportunity for all Owls to try out some of the 2024-25 proposed Enrichment Clubs. They will have a chance to try out more Clubs during Week #2 of Club Rush this Friday, August 30th.The student club leaders did a nice job facilitating their proposed clubs! Highlights are included within the OWLstanding News section. As a friendly reminder, ECHS OWL Friday Attendance is mandatory and expected. There is an expectation that all ECHS students are in attendance from the beginning of their school day until the close of their school day. Attendance will be taken throughout all portions of the school day (ie. Nest Time, Advisory, Enrichment Clubs and Office Hours) on C Days.
Tomorrow (August 26th), our 10th through 12th grade students will begin in their ACC classes! Our ECHS students who are registered in ACC classes for the Fall 2024 semester, should have received needed information regarding accessing their electronic books and/or picking up paperback books for courses through the office.
It is wonderful being part of our wonderful Early College High School (ECHS) Community. Thanks for what each of you add to ECHS!
Please reach out if you have any questions.
GO OWLS!
Dr. Wilson

DISTRICT UPDATE:
Dr. Azaiez, Superintendent of Schools, August 23 community message
Aug 23, 2024
Dear Round Rock ISD Community,
It’s been an incredible start to the new school year. The students and staff I have had the honor of meeting are excited to return to school, reconnect with familiar faces, forge new friendships, and embrace fresh opportunities. Watch highlights from our first day of school.
Our dedicated staff and families who return year after year are well aware of the outstanding educators and unmatched educational opportunities our district offers.
If you are a newcomer to our district you will soon discover that our outstanding programs and teachers establish Round Rock ISD as the premier public school district in Central Texas.
What truly sets our district apart is our staff’s relentless commitment, along with the involvement of our parent and community volunteers, PTA, Partners in Education Foundation, Booster Clubs, and community and business partners who prioritize our students’ well-being.
Building on this strong foundation of community support, our Board of Trustees took an important step at their August 18 regular meeting by voting to call for a $998 million bond proposition on the Nov. 5, 2024 ballot. This decision follows the work of a Long Term Master Facilities Plan Citizens Committee, which identified over $3 billion in deferred maintenance, life-cycle replacement, and renovation needs.
If approved by voters on November 5, a Bond package will fund projects to replace and upgrade aging and obsolete items and systems in older facilities (including roofing, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing upgrades), modernize security systems and out-of-date technology, and expand student career training and enrichment choices.
More information on the Bond will be available on our Bond website soon. Please send a Let’s Talk if you have any questions.
Thank you for choosing Round Rock ISD. I deeply appreciate your support of our schools and am enthusiastic about what lies ahead for our students.
Respectfully,
Dr. Hafedh “AZ” Azaiez
Proud Superintendent of Schools
