Construction has begun on our entry garden thanks to the team at Coastal Roots. This new space will be completed in the spring with new plantings, as well as links to water and electricity. It will also have the return of two memorials for former members of the Oak Ridge community. Thank you Kait and Bobby Morris for your expertise and dedication to our school. It will be a beautiful way to welcome students and families to Oak Ridge!
As we approach the colder temperatures, student safety is paramount when it comes to recess. At Oak Ridge, we have always used the model of "feels like' temperatures of below 25 degrees as our guideline. At this point exposed skin is at risk. Students who want to participate in outdoor recess need to be prepared by covering exposed skin in temps below freezing by wearing pants, jackets, hats, and gloves. This is not only for general comfort, but for safety as well. If you need support with clothing, please reach out to our social work team.
