National Merit Scholarship
The principal, Dana Schmidt, of Red Lion Area Senior High School announced today that Charles Bupp, Justin Danner, Connor McQueen and Christopher Varnell have been named Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2025 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the 50,000 students who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
"Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokesperson for NMSC. "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."
Special Olympics Youth Summit

"Paw"sitive Pal of the Week!
Our “Paw”sitive pal of the week is Ms. Adrienne Boblitz, our ELL teacher. Ms. Boblitz has been with the district for some time, but has rejoined our school this year! We appreciate all that she is doing to help our students acclimate to our school, feel represented, and be part of the PRIDE. She has done an amazing job of promoting diversity, inclusion, and the importance of celebrating what makes us who we are. Thank you Ms. Boblitz for all that you do for our school and students. We are so happy to have you be part of our PRIDE.
