Willow Parent Bulletin # 14

When we knew that conferences would need to be done through Zoom, I was a little hesitant. The feedback from staff has been positive and if you have anything you'd like to add, please email me. If you were unable to attend, please contact your child's teacher. This collaboration is important for your child's continued learning.

Thank you to everyone who completed the parent survey about your learning preference for the remainder of this school year. Your input helps us as we plan for students coming back into the building when it's safe to do so. If you did not complete the survey, your child will be considered a remote student.

When school resumes on January 4, your child will continue with the remote learning that he/she has been doing. The changes related to the survey will only take place if the metrics are safe. The first decision deadline for this will be January 7th. Please be sure to watch for information from the District at this time.

We are so excited at the prospect of having students back in the building soon!

Written by Catherine Bradshaw, ABC a la moda is a delightfully written and illustrated ABC book. Utilizing fashion words written in Spanish along with their English counterparts the reader will expand his/her vocabulary with this fun book. While not available at the Homewood Public Library, it is available for purchase through Scholastic.

Over winter break, please be sure to:

1. Turn your iPad on 3-4 times over break, and leave it on for a few hours, so it can receive updates
2. Be sure to keep your iPad in a safe place when it is not in use
3. Please do not bring your iPad when travelling

When back in session:

1. Restart the iPad every day
2. Close as many browser tabs and apps as possible when on Zoom

The curriculum we use, Second Step, also has resources for parents. The access codes were sent earlier in the year, but we can all use a reminder! Each grade level has a different code to use for access. You can also check out their free resources at: https://www.secondstep.org/covid19support
