Happy New Year Seahawks! As we come back from Christmas break and move into the first week of January our staff and students are well rested and ready to continue soaring to success! Before leaving for winter break we had our annual Christmas program. We appreciate all of the families that came to celebrate and support our students. This week we distributed the quarter two report cards and had parent conferences. If you did not get the opportunity to come, feel free to contact the school to set up another conference time.

Next week we will start our mid-year MAPS testing. Our K-12 students will be tested in Reading, Language, and Math. We expect all students to come to school on time and well rested so they will be prepared to test. Lastly, on Friday we will also have our quarterly honor roll assembly. The K-6 assembly will start at 9AM and the 7-12 will start at 10AM. Parents are welcome to attend.

Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat Upward Bound T3 Alaska members flew the Phantom RTK drone! They crafted a plan to map out the school playground and sewer lagoon. The club is monitoring the proximity of the coastline erosion to the sewer lagoon fence. With the successful attempt, the members uploaded the file to arcGIS and rendered the images in 3D. Their most recent attempt mapped the entire school grounds. While they had to overcome some problems with GPS and SD cards, they figured it out with growth mindset!
