Weekly Wrap-Up #14: 11/22/24
Wrapping up This Week + News for the Weeks to Come
WITH A HEART FULL OF GRATITUDE
Here's my wish for you and your families that you have unexpected moments to remember in the next week. Laugh together, play together and work together - all of them help our kids stay healthy and happy.
This past week was full! We had fun at The Flipside (thanks PTA!), enjoyed our amazing 4th/5th Showcase "Under the Sea," 4th Grade Field Trip, and then we took our Garfield Choir out to perform at the Festival of Lights. Excellent job to all of you!
Enjoy your week of break time! Get rested, refreshed, and healthy again, I hope.
Last opportunity for students who love to express themselves with visual art - our Garfield on the Move Challenge and TSD's Martin Luther King, Jr competition. There is more information about both of them towards the end of this newsletter.
Increasingly, students are asking duty teachers to warm up something in their lunchbox in the microwave. Let me clarify about its purpose.... While there is a microwave in cafeteria, it is used only to warm food for students with specific health plans requiring it. With one person on duty in the cafeteria, having them with their back to the group while they heat up lunches isn't supportive of the whole group. Thank you for your understanding
As always, please reach out with questions or feedback about things you notice. This is an amazing place and we want to keep it that way!
