Needs
- The house of Honradez is looking for blue hand towels in all shades of blue. They can be gently used but should be washed and clean.
- Nurse could use some T-shirts in all sizes, but espcially smaller sizes for K,1, 2 students.
Lost and Found
Our Lost & Found collection has been growing fast in the last few weeks! We will have tables out during the Parent-Teacher conference days (10/23 & 10/25) with items spread out for easy finding. Any items not claimed by October 25th will be donated. Please take a few moments and look through the lost and found to see if there are any items belonging to your family.
One parent suggested: Affordable labels can be purchased here so clothing and accessories can easily be labeled.
Trunk or Treat
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, hosted a trunk, helped set up, and assisted with cleanup. An extra special thank you to our amazing PTO for all your hard work in organizing the event. Our Trunk or Treat was a huge success! We had so much fun and raised funds for our classrooms. I truly believe we have the absolute best community—your support makes all the difference!
The Aquarian Book Fair is coming!
The Aquarian book fair is held in the library every year at conference time. Most students will be able to preview the book fair before conferences.
Our school book fair website is https://www.scholastic.com/bf/aquariancharterschool. Once there, you can add money to an eWallet so your child can shop the book fair without sending money, as well as preorder the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, Hot Mess (purchase by October 22 for free shipping).
The first day of sales will be after school on the 21st. The book fair will continue through the week (Monday 3:15-6:00, Tuesday 3:15-5:00, Wednesday 8:30-6:00, Friday 8:30-12:00) and be packed up in the afternoon Friday, October 25th.
Volunteers are needed! If you would like to help with sales, especially the 21st right after school or during conferences (so Ms. Sharon can conference with parents), contact Ms. Sharon, talk to her in the library, or email at holland_sharon@asdk12.org
A huge shout out goes to Ms. Sarah P’s 4th grade class and Ms. Sarah O’s 6th grade class who set up the fair!

House Hour
During our House Hours, we’ve been focusing on what it means to be Five Houses, but One Family. While healthy competition is fun, we know that ultimately we are stronger together. This past Thursday, each student created a feather during House Hour, and these feathers were combined to form a large pair of wings, symbolizing that together we soar!
These wings are now on display in the office hallway, and we encourage you to stop by to check them out. Don’t forget to snap a picture with your child standing in the center of the wings!
Healthy Futures
Dear Families,
With the cold weather setting in and snow in the mountains, it is important to still make time to get outside for exercise. You can use Healthy Future Activity Logs to help your child do just that! Get 15 days of 60 minutes of activity and you can fill out a log and receive a prize. This month it is a puzzle ball!
Use the link below to enter your child’s participation once they have completed their monthly activity. I’ve also provided a printable calendar, or you can keep track of activity on any home calendar. Having your child fill out the form will help them set a goal and be accountable for it. You can use stickers or just a star in each box when they complete a day of activity.
The form will not come back to school. Once your child has completed 15 days of 60 minutes of activity, use the link to enter their name. Please use the link for each of your children. You can go here https://bit.ly/HealthyFutureLog to print a log for your child to use to see their progress or use any calendar for them to see their progress. Incentives for doing a September log will come out soon.
The October link is https://bit.ly/AquarianOctoberHF.
It will open after Oct 15 to enter activity logs.
Have fun, get outside and enjoy getting activity!

Sock Drive
The House of Compassion and Student Council will be hosting a Sock-tober Sock Drive during the entire month of October! All socks collected will be donated to support Beacon Hill. Beacon Hill hands out approximately 500 pairs of socks every month! Please place NEW socks, ranging from Infant to Adult sizes, in your house donation box in Gym Hall starting October 1st. The house with the most donated socks will win a pizza lunch!

Science Fair
Dear Aquarian Families,
It's October, and that means it's time to seriously start thinking about the science fair! If your child is a 3rd-6th grader (or if your kindergarten-2nd grade child is choosing to do a science fair project), it is time to find and select a topic and make a project plan. This month will fly by, but by deciding on a topic now your child will be ready to start working on a project soon. This is just a suggested timeline. Starting early allows for adjustments and unexpected occurrences and, best of all, a positive science fair experience!
Please thoroughly read the descriptions of the types of projects (Experiment, Research, Demonstration and Model) in the 2024/25 Science Fair Packet. The packet is available for download on Aquarian's website, and there is also a hard copy in the office.
Individual Science Fair Projects are required for students in the third through sixth grades. Kindergarten through second-grade classrooms will be completing in-class group projects with their teachers, but they are welcome to complete individual projects as well.
Dates to remember:
Science Fair Entry Forms Due to Teachers: December 6th
Science Fair: February 6th (Projects may be due to teachers before then)
Volunteers: We are looking for 30-40 volunteer judges on February 6th from approximately 8:00-11:30 am. Parents, family members, and friends are welcome. For more information, or if you’re interested in committing, sign up at bit.ly/AQSciFairJudge
or contact Sarah Fineman.
