Admirals in Action
8th grade had a great time at Grad-Venture last Friday night!
Edible Science: Students were pollinators in Mrs. Grubbs and Mrs. Innocenti’s Class as they searched for “nectar” and found themselves covered in “pollen.”
Our 7th and 8th grade robotics students got to showcase what they have been working on all year, with our final competition! All of the finalists competed against each other and parents got to come watch and cheer them on! Check our winners for the Masterpiece Season!
4th grade students were excited to begin training as next year's official safety patrols.
Students in Mrs. Grubbs and Mrs. Innocenti’s class explored food webs as they dissected owl pellets! After dissecting the pellet, students examined the regurgitated skeletal remains and identified the animal that was consumed by the owl.
Mrs. Kudia's class dissecting owl pellets, identifying bones and animals and connecting our new learning to the food chains & webs we have been working on in class.
Students in Mrs. Cossum's class are being risk-takers and communicators by creating a podcast on the unsung heroes of the American Revolution - from spies who helped win the war to Black soldiers who fought for freedom they wouldn't see firsthand. (P.S. Thank you to last year's PTSA for the teacher grant that allowed us to create our podcast!)
Mrs. Kudia’s class using their research and communication skills in the media center as we worked on our ecosystem projects for our Sharing the Planet Unit.
“Coffee & Conferences” in Mrs. Zorrilla’s class. Students were reflective communicators as they ran student led conferences for their parents!
Ms. Crane’s robotics students took time to teach Mrs. Malden’s 1st graders some coding!
3rd graders in Mrs. Gangis and Mrs. Hilliker's classes enjoyed an art class incentive during lunch!
Mrs. Bello’s authors published a book all about their Kindergarten memories for the How We Express Ourselves unit. They invited parents to come in and enjoy their book for this special day.
We are proud of York's 2nd grade Green Team with how they have communicated and kept our campus informed about our recycling program! They went "live" on today's morning show!
From Mrs. Gratt's Kindergarten class: We are published authors! We showed the "caring" learner profile by taking care of Bamboo (koala) from Australia, pictured here with our class!

Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org
Uniform Policy
*Reminder, shoes must be "secured to the feet" and "suitable for going up and down stairs." If students are wearing Crocs, they must be in "sports mode" with the strap across the back to be in dress code compliance.
*Spirit t-shirts and jeans/jean shorts are only permitted on Fridays.
Cell Phone Reminder:
Students are not permitted to use cell phones in the hallways during MYP class period transitions and should only access phones during class if it is for a teacher-approved purpose. If you need to get a message to your student during the school day, please call the office. Thank you for helping us maintain an academic focus during school hours.
Reminders for a Safe Arrival & Dismissal
Reminder for morning arrivals: Students are only to be dropped off in the lane closest to York's office sidewalk. For our students' safety, please do not allow students to exit cars from the 2nd lane or from parking spots in front of the school as those locations require them to cross moving traffic in lane 1.
Reminder for dismissal: It is important for cars to stay in their designated lane and not switch/merge as it disrupts the dismissal process. Students are called to designated cones based on the order and lane that cars enter our campus. Please be sure to enter our line by 3:15pm while our staff is still out taking names for a quicker dismissal process.
**Please note a change in the flyer below: If emailing a change of dismissal, please email tari.carpenter@hcps.net and anna.avery@hcps.net **
