The fall AIU8 reading competition was held at Bellwood HS. "The Reading Warriors" led by middle school captain, Sadie Smeal, brought home a third place win to beat 12 other teams--and some from much larger schools! 15 students participated in the competition. We had one student that had to drop out of the competition that day due to an injury.

All of WBMS was invited to participate in a T-shirt design contest. Nine entries were submitted and voted on by WBMS Reading Team to select the winner (above).

This flyer was posted in the hallways, in both the fall and the spring, to recruit new members to our WBMS Reading Team.

I had so many students for the spring reading competition, that we had to split into two teams "Red Reading Warriors" for grades 7 & 8 and "Blue Reading Warriors" for grades 5 & 6. We also had to take a bus, which we would never have been able to afford without your generous grant! The students were beyond excited to get out of school early to compete at Forest Hills Jr/Sr. HS. We had 4 students who were either absent or went home early the day of the competition.
