Kicking off of Trimester 2!
As Trimester 1 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students. It’s been a productive and exciting first part of the school year, and we’re proud of the progress made so far. Thank you for your continued support in helping your student succeed!
As we begin Trimester 2, we encourage you to talk with your student about starting strong. Setting goals, staying organized, and maintaining good habits are essential for success.
Areas of Focus for Trimester 2:
Backpacks and Technology in Lockers: To ensure a safe and distraction-free learning environment, students are expected to store backpacks, cell phones, earbuds, and AirPods in their lockers before the bell.
Enforcement of Technology Policy: Students who violate the policy will be assigned lunch detention. Please help us reinforce this expectation by discussing it with your student.
Together, we can create an environment where every student feels supported and can thrive. Let’s make Trimester 2 even better than the first!
Thank you for partnering with us in your student’s success.
30 Minutes of Reading at Home for Our OBJ Students Everyday!
We want all our students at OBJ to spend 30 minutes reading at home each day. It’s a wonderful way to build strong reading skills, expand their imagination, and enjoy some quiet, focused time.
This small daily habit can make a big difference in fostering a love for reading and supporting the great work they’re doing in the classroom. Whether it’s a favorite novel, a graphic novel, or an engaging nonfiction book, every minute spent reading adds up!
Let’s work together to make reading a fun and valuable part of every day. Happy reading! 📚

Attendance Matters: A Key to Success and Growth
At The Bay, we’re here to help every student grow—academically, socially, and emotionally. One of the most important ways to support that growth is by showing up on time every day. Being present and on time not only helps students learn more but also teaches important life skills like responsibility and reliability.
Here are a few tips to help make attendance and punctuality a priority:
- Connect It to the Real World: Talk with your student about how being on time is an important habit that future employers value. It shows dependability and helps open doors to opportunities.
- Set a Routine: A good night’s sleep, organizing materials the night before, and a smooth morning routine can make getting to school on time easier.
- Think About the Benefits: Being in class every day helps your student grow, build new skills, and reach their goals.
- Celebrate Wins: Take a moment to recognize your student’s efforts to improve their attendance and punctuality. Every step forward counts!
We’re here to partner with you in helping your student build habits that will serve them for life. Thank you for all you do to support their success. Together, we’re preparing them for a bright future!
