Dear Parents and Carers
All children have settled well into the new school year and classrooms have good routines established to ensure success in student learning. We would like to thank staff for the efforts they have put into ensuring such a smooth transition from a long school holiday break back into the school.
Meet and Greet the Teacher and Sundowner
BONUS New School Uniform Prize Draw sponsored by Beppie De Kuyer
Classrooms open from 4.30-5.30pm
Sundowner concludes at 7.30pm
Please mark the 23rd of February in your calendars for our teacher meet and greet and annual school sundowner. When families and school work together student learning is enhanced. We would like to provide you with an opportunity to meet your child’s classroom teacher so that we can establish a strong partnership with you to ensure that your child succeeds and grows in their learning this year. Classrooms will be open from 4.30-5.30pm for you to pop in and introduce yourself to the teacher. You will receive the classroom information flyer and your name will also be placed into a prize draw for a new school shirt and hat for your child.
Our school sundowner then runs until 7.30pm and families are invited to bring a picnic dinner to have on the bottom oval.
Class Reps
BONUS New School Uniform Prize Draw sponsored by Beppie De Kuyer
We would love to get a vibrant and active class rep system up and running this year. This job is not a difficult one. You will occasionally liaise with the classroom teacher to communicate information to parents and assist the P&F by asking for parent volunteers to assist at various P&F run events, like the school disco. We would also love for you to try and attend at least one P&F meeting per term, but this is not a requirement if you are unable to make the time. If you volunteer to be class rep, your name will go into a separate prize draw for a new school shirt and hat.
We thank Beppie, a previous staff member for so generously and lovingly sponsoring our uniform prizes for this draw.
Uniform
We have noticed a few uniform transgressions and have asked teachers to alert parents to non-uniform compliance via a SeeSaw message. While we understand some uniform items, particularly the shorts in small sizes, have run low in stock, we are noticing that a number of children are wearing the old uniform grey socks with their school shoes. The uniform is white socks only and we ask parents to assist us in this matter by checking that their children have sufficient pairs of white socks to wear to be compliant. A uniform unites us as a school community, and we want children to wear it with pride.
Pizza with the Principal
Our Mercy value winners for Semester 2, 2023, will be enjoying pizza and an icy pole with the principal on Friday at lunch time. This reward system encourages children to live out our Mercy values in the classroom and the playground. Our Mercy values of Service, Justice, Integrity, Compassion, Respect and Excellence form the foundation of our student code of conduct.
We are reminded in Romans that as a wonderful community made up of many people, we all bring our collective strengths for our singular moral purpose of nurturing, inspiring and educating the children in our care, so that they may flourish.
‘For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us’.
God bless you all.
