Leyden provides auto-translated captions at Graduation
East and West Leyden are planning to provide auto-translated captions of the upcoming graduation ceremonies on the Microsoft Translator app, as a way to enhance the experience for all attendees.
Individuals who utilize this feature will be able to follow the text translation on their personal cell phones. If possible, we ask that the Microsoft Translator app be downloaded in advance. A unique code will be provided that evening, prior to the start of the ceremony, which will allow for access to the presentation. Attendees who plan to utilize this feature must enter the code to join the presentation prior to the start of the ceremony. Kindly, we ask that cell phones be muted for the duration of the evening.
In addition, graduations will be streamed live on the Leyden YouTube channels. After the ceremonies, families can also watch the videos and utilize the auto-translate features on YouTube to experience graduation in their language of choice.

West Leyden student wins 1st place in Illinois Space Society drawing competition
West Leyden student Hong Nguyen was recently awarded first place in the Illinois Space Society drawing competition. Nguyen learned about the Illinois Space Society drawing competition in Ms. Meister’s class, which had to depict the most studied solar system outside of our own: Trappist - 1. The artist had to include a scene on one of these planets, using research that scientists have discovered about this star and its planets.
“I'm not used to drawing environments or anything, even realism,” said Nguyen. “So this was very difficult for me to draw but then again, I'm competitive when it comes to drawing.”
Boys Gymnastics
The Leyden boy’s gymnastics team earned 3rd place at the Glenbard West invite.
