Principal Message
Dear Families,
As we celebrate Inclusive Schools Week, I want to take a moment to highlight and honor our school community's unwavering commitment to inclusivity and equity for every student. At Hoover Elementary, we deeply believe in the potential of all children. Each student is unique, and it is our privilege to nurture their individual strengths and support their growth.
Inclusivity is more than a value for us—it is a promise. We are dedicated to creating an environment where every student feels safe, respected, and valued. Our school is proud to serve a diverse group of learners, including students with a variety of unique needs, backgrounds, and abilities. From our general education classrooms to our specialized programs, our focus is on meeting each child where they are and empowering them to reach their fullest potential.
To achieve this, we are fortunate to have a team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals, including general education teachers, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, social workers, and specialists in areas such as speech and language, occupational therapy, and counseling. These individuals work collaboratively to ensure that every child receives the support and resources they need to thrive.
At Hoover, we offer a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of all learners, including:
- STEM, Art, Music, and Physical Education programs that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
- Intervention and enrichment opportunities to support academic growth and challenge students at all levels.
- Social-emotional learning (SEL) programs to help students develop the skills they need to navigate relationships, manage emotions, and make positive decisions.
- Specialized services and programs such as our comprehensive special education services that are designed to provide tailored support for students with a wide variety of abilities and unique needs.
This week is a time to celebrate the richness that diversity brings to our school and to reaffirm our commitment to building an inclusive community. We are proud of the progress we have made and continue to seek ways to grow. Most importantly, we are honored to partner with you—our families—in this important work.
Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education and for being an integral part of our inclusive school community. Together, we are creating a place where every student can succeed, every voice can be heard, and every child can feel a sense of belonging. Should you have any questions about the programs we offer or supports available to your learners, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Please enjoy the Just Ask by Sonia Sotomayor video below with your children to help us celebrate inclusion in our school!
With gratitude,
Mollie Meyer

Early Release Day
Please be reminded Wednesday, December 11th is a two hour early release. Students will be dismissed from school at 12:30 pm. If your dismissal plans are different from a normal school day you MUST tell your students' homeroom teacher.
This month, we are short staffed and at this time have not been able to find substitute supervision. We are asking that folks who have access to alternate care, please consider those options. If you are willing to volunteer to help supervise, we would also gratefully accept the support.
If you need your student to stay until 2:30 pm you must register your child for supervision. We ask that you continue to register each month for early release supervision as many families' plans change. If your student attends ACES or YMCA you still need to register for child supervision each time.
Parents/Guardians that pick up students please pull up in the pick up line in front of the building on Marie lane. Students will be watching for you to pull up inside door number 1. We ask that you please refrain from picking up between 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm as our staff wishes to focus their time on engaging in meaningful activities with students. We understand that circumstances may change, but appreciate your help with this request.
If you need child care for your student between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm for the upcoming Early Release Day, please fill out the form linked below. (If you would like to send a snack for after school please feel free to do so as lunch is served early.)
