Every Day Counts!
Our Attendance Rate for August was 93%
We need you here every day Students!
IN AUGUST:
WHO MISSED MORE THAN 10% OF THE ENROLLED DAYS IN AUGUST
22% OF OUR 9TH GRADE
22.5% OF OUR 10TH GRADE
24.4% OF OUR 11TH GRADE
28.3% OF OUR 12TH GRADE
Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school
Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school, or about 18 days in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month and that’s known as chronic absence
TARDY RESET! GET TO SCHOOL AND CLASS ON TIME!
Students and Parents, our new Tardy Policy is in effect! Students must sign in to the Student Kiosk if they are late to school or class, unless they are excused and they should report to the front office with their excuse. These will accumulate quickly!
Parents you will be alerted, automatically, if your child is late to school or class.
If a student is late:
1st Time = Warning
2nd Time = Warning
3rd Time = Lunch Detention (REPROT TO LUNCH DETENTION AND RESET YOUR TARDIES)
4th Time = 1 Day ISS
5th Time = 2 Days ISS
6th Time = 3 Days ISS
7th Time = Parent Conference

Hands for Humanity
We are Hands for Humanity, a long-standing community of students at Locust Grove High School. We encourage educational rights and raise awareness on behalf of underprivileged students.
Over the last 6 years, we have collected hundreds of new toys and new clothes for homeless kids throughout Henry County. Our goal is to provide kindness through giving.
Our goal is to collect 700 New Toys.
The deadline to provide us with toys is December 12th. Please deliver the toys to Ms. Davidson. (Room. 127)
From our ESE Department: IEP and Accommodations
If your student has an IEP and is in 10th grade, please return the Consent form for Accommodations Request that you received in the mail so that they will be able to receive accommodations on the PSAT that is coming up in October.
We would love for our parents to join the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC). This is a group of parents that meet with ESE staff from our District Office and have your voice heard.
