YES DAY - GSACRD Lenten Project
Get ready for some fun and a chance to make a real difference! Our Lenten Project this year is all about embracing a little joyful rebellion with "Yes Day" - a break-a-rule day with a purpose! We're channeling that playful energy into a fundraising drive for Catholic Social Services, aiming to surpass last year's $900 and reach our $1000 goal to support the Unhoused and the vital CSS Care-A-Van project.
See below for more details of what students can get with their donations!
Blessings for a wonderful week ahead,

Piano Donation for Legal School
A very special thank you to the Adkins family, for the donation of a historical piano that previously belonged to the Grey Nuns. Vivianne Adkins arranged to have the piano delivered and set up in our music room. Her grandaughters attend Legal School in grade 2 & 5, and this is an honour for our school community.
Yes Day- Break a rule day! Lenten Project 2025
This is our Lenten Project for Catholic Social Services and our goal is to raise $1000 for the Unhoused and the CSS Care-A-Van project, help us surpass our goal, last year we raised $900.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free..’” (Luke 4:17-19)
Be an Emotion Detective!
In our wellness lessons, we’ve been learning about emotional literacy—the ability to recognize, understand, and express our feelings. One way we can do this is by becoming Emotion Detectives!
Just like a detective gathers clues to solve a mystery, we can look for clues in our bodies, thoughts, and actions to figure out how we feel. This helps us choose the best way to manage our emotions.
One tool we’ve been using is the Mood Meter, which helps us identify and understand our emotions based on energy (high or low) and pleasantness (positive or negative feelings).
Red Zone: High energy, unpleasant feelings (e.g., angry, frustrated)
Blue Zone: Low energy, unpleasant feelings (e.g., sad, tired)
Yellow Zone: High energy, pleasant feelings (e.g., excited, happy)
Green Zone: Low energy, pleasant feelings (e.g., calm, content)
By recognizing where we are on the Mood Meter, we can make choices to regulate our emotions—like taking deep breaths, moving our bodies, or talking to someone we trust.
