PENNY WARS
On behalf of our PBIS committee we would like you to help us with your pennies and “extra” change so that we can collect money for our PBIS program. Between September 30th and October 3rd, we will begin a “Penny War” between classrooms.
At the end of the week, the 5 classrooms with the highest points will receive a game day as their prize and the grand prize winner will receive a game day AND they will choose two board games of their choice for their classroom. So please help our classroom win this “Penny War”!
We thank you for your participation in helping make this penny war successful and promoting PBIS.
FALL PICTURE DAY
Look your best on Friday, October 4, 2024 for Fall picture day! Families can pre-order pictures with LifeTouch using this school code: EVT477V7V.
Use these tips to help your child get ready for school pictures.
- Help your child pick out clothes and colors that look good on them. Avoid slogans, logos, and big patterns. Small jewelry and accessories are fine but nothing too big or distracting. Some poses may show pants or skirts, so plan the complete outfit.
- Glasses are okay! Lifetouch photographers know all the tricks to reduce glare.
- Any hairstyle works for Picture Day. Schedule haircuts a few weeks ahead of time to allow hair to grow back a little, or you can go for a fresh-cut look.
- Keep kids relaxed and ready to be themselves. Smiles can look fake if they’re practiced ahead of time. Remember, smiles are like french fries—they’re better when they’re fresh.
- Don’t worry about “perfect”! That hair that always sticks up or a missing tooth shows your child just as they are right now—and you’ll enjoy looking back on that for years to come. On Picture Day, teachers and volunteers will help straighten collars and check posture. And, if you like, we have retouching options for scrapes and blemishes.

DID YOU KNOW?
Research shows students should miss no more than nine days of school each year to stay engaged, successful, and on track to graduate.
Family participation is vital to this effort. None of our strategies can succeed without a strong partnership between families and our schools. Together, we can help students thrive and achieve a happy and successful educational experience.
Showing up to school every day is critical for children’s well-being, engagement and learning.
- A whole year has 365 days.
- A school year has only 176 days.
- That leaves 189 days to spend on family time, visits, holidays, shopping, and other appointments.
How sick is too sick for your child to go to school? Review this checklist to determine if you should send your child to school.
CHARGE STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS & iPADS
Please help your child form a daily habit of plugging in their Chromebook or iPad as soon as they get home from school so they come to school the following day with a fully charged device. Your child's skills in independence and responsibility will prepare them for a full day of academics.
