EIGHT CORNERS UPDATE
COVID-19 Update
April 10, 2021
Dear Eight Corners Families and Staff,
This letter is to inform you that someone from Eight Corners School has been confirmed positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Our school nurse and I have been in close communication with the Maine CDC to ensure all protocols are being followed. Because this person has not been at school since April 2, there are no school-related close contacts. We are informing you now in an effort of complete transparency. We would continue to caution all families and staff to follow CDC requirements and take precautions as necessary, in an effort to assist us in slowing the community spread at this time. We would also strongly advise everyone to pay attention to potential COVID symptoms listed below, and please make sure you make contact with the school immediately if your child tests positive.
Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 may include:
• fever or chills
• cough
• shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• fatigue
• muscle or body aches
• headache
• new loss of taste or smell
• sore throat
• congestion or runny nose • nausea or vomiting or diarrhea
Questions can be directed to our school nurse Rebecca Cummings at 730-5200 or rcummings@scarboroughschools.org. For general COVID-19 questions, dial 211 (or 1-866-811-5695). You can also text your ZIP code to 898-211 or email info@211maine.org. Call a health care provider for questions about your symptoms.
