Middle School Program Overview
The middle school GMP is a full-day, Gifted and Talented Magnet Program for grades 6-8. The middle school philosophy focuses on educating the whole child through rich, in-depth curriculum centered on year-long themes, project based instruction, experiential learning, and a wide variety of exploratory classes and academic competitions.
Project Based Learning
8th Grade Boat Challenge
Engaging rigorous projects include bridge building, boat building and egg drop competitions; service learning and STEAM challenges.
A Day of Service at The Glen
Students participate in a day of service each year that addresses a need in the community and fosters a sense of civic duty.
6th Grade Bridge Building Challenge
Testing to see which bridge bears the most mass.
8th Grade Egg Drop Challenge
Celebrating a successful Egg Drop design.
Cell City in Science
Students work in groups to bring this metaphor to life.
The GMP Is Taught by Highly Qualified GT Trained Teachers
Looping of Teachers
Sabin has 140 students in the GMP who are taught by six teachers who loop with students to foster a sense of community and common expectations.
We love making learning fun. 😁

Middle School Shadow Days
Students may shadow by appointment at each GMP school by contacting the school and asking to speak with the Gifted Magnet Program Coordinator.
