Cougar News - Week of 11/6/23
Letter from Ms. Bedford
Hello Smallville,
It has been a great week! We are excited about Smalloween tonight and look forward to having a lot of fun dancing, enjoying the snacks, and visiting the Haunted House. I want to give a huge thank you to our Chamber Choir who performed at the Austin Ed Fund “Inspire the Future” luncheon. They did an amazing job representing Small.
As you probably have seen on campus, our security fencing is in the final stages of completion, which means we are gearing up to elevate our Green Tech Academy outdoor classroom spaces. I want to send a special thank you to our PTA who have provided various grants to our teachers and staff, to include grants that support our Green Tech expansion plans.
This week our Dual Language program sponsored a Dia de los Muertos “Day of the Dead” ofrenda, a type of a traditional altar that in Mexican traditions is used to remember and give homage to our departed loved ones. Each year our ofrenda also serves as a very tangible way for many of us to process our loss, grief, and hope. I appreciate our school community’s commitment to celebrating this holiday.
Have an amazing weekend, we will see you on Monday!
Stay Present Cougars,
Bedford

Each entry must be the original work of one student and created specifically for the Reflections program based on the national theme and follow the program guidelines.
