Secure Drill: This past Thursday, the whole school practiced a secure drill. A secure is used when there is concerning event taking place in the surrounding community. For a secure we bring all students inside the building and secure all outside exits. No one enters or leaves the building during a secure. Classes continue as usual in the classrooms. Our students and staff did an excellent job practicing this important drill.

Counselor Lessons

This month we have been learning how to use the Peace Path. The Peace Path is a structured way to talk to another student they are in conflict with. It allows students an opportunity to tell the student how their feeling and an opportunity to listen.

For the month of December our school wide C.A.R.E.S. focus is Cooperation.

Thank you Powell Butte families for all your effort in supporting student attendance. We are happy to announce that all your hard work in paying off. For the 3rd consective month our attendance improved. We still have lots of work to do so please reach out to our office if there is anything we can do to support your students coming to school.

Talented and Gift Nominations: A TAG (Talented and Gifted) student demonstrates exceptional abilities or potential in areas like academics, creativity, or leadership. They may excel traditionally or challenge the norm by thinking or learning differently.

Parents play a vital role in identifying TAG students. If you believe your child has unique talents or learning needs, we encourage you to nominate them. The process is simple, and your input helps us provide the right support. Please fill out the link below if you would like to nominate them. We will be doing assessments in February for all of 2nd grade and nominated students" ~ something along those lines

Winter Break Health Center: The Parkrose Student Health Center will be open during winter break daily from 8:45am-4:45pm. It will be closed on December 25th and January 1st. If you have health needs and need an appoint please call 503-988-3392.

December Lunch Menu:

PB Site Council/Tier 1 Leadership Team: Calling all Powell Butte Elementary Parents and Community Members. We need your voice! We are looking for parents and community members to be part of our PB Site Council/Tier 1 leadership team . We meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 7:30am - 8:30am in the library. If you are interested in being a part of our team please reach out to Mr. Austin or Mrs. Reyes. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 8th.

Urban Gleaners Food Pantry at 3:30 PM on Every Thursday (starting September 12th). There is Urban Gleaners Food Distribution every Thursday that we have school. Urban Gleaners Food Pantry distribution is held under our front covered area at 3:30 PM. Come and get free food and other supplies.
