Shared Domicile Renewal 2025-2026 (Deadline to renew August 15th)
If at the time of your child's enrollment, you verified your domicile through the use of a Shared Domicile Disclosure Form, your child's enrollment must be renewed each year if you continue to live in a shared domicile arrangement at the given address.
You will need to verify your domicile for the school year by providing current residency documentation to the school:
1. A completed Shared Domicile Disclosure Renewal Form signed and dated by the parent/guardian and the homeowner/lease holder.
2. Three current documents, dated within the past sixty (60) days, verifying your domicile at the Baltimore County residence stated above in this letter.
3. Photo identification for parent/guardian is needed.
You can begin the reverification process by:
1. Email the documents to Ms. Bailey, mbailey8@bcps.org
2. Bring the documents to Chesapeake High School
a. Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
**If you do not provided these items by August 15th, your child will be withdrawn. If they are withdrawn, you will have to start the entire shared domicile process over again.**
Please help us plan for your child's educational program by giving prompt attention to this matter. Should you have any questions, please call Ms. Bailey, mbailey8@bcps.org or 443-809-0103.

Preparing for a Successful Summer Break
For many children and teens, summer break means freedom, but for those who thrive on routine, it can also bring stress. Research shows that consistent structure and support systems are key to children’s mental, emotional, and social wellbeing. Without them, some kids may feel anxious, irritable, or withdrawn. For caregivers and professionals, summer break can also feel far from restful.
A 2025 survey by the Kids Mental Health Foundation revealed that 1 in 10 parents feel more anxious about the obstacles to wellness their children could experience during summer than during the academic year. The top concerns were disrupted routines, increased screen time, and boredom. The good news? With preparation, summer can be smoother for everyone.
Here are ways to set up a successful summer:
- Maintain the daily schedule from the school year as much as possible
- Schedule plenty of summer activities early and keep children informed
- Encourage outdoor activities and movement
- Create a behavior system to track and reinforce positive changes
- Stay connected with caregivers, professionals, or support groups
The CHS website is a great resource for families. Informational Links about bus stops, the bell schedule, the handbook, monthly engagements calendars, and much more can all be found right on the main page of the website (These will be updated in August). There is also a tab for department contacts that have email contacts for all teachers and staff. As well as a translated resources page for Spanish speaking families.
Check out the Website today: https://chesapeakehs.bcps.org/

COLLEGE 101
Are you a senior thinking about applying to a 4 year college this fall?
1. Make a list of 10 schools.
- They should include your major of interest, be in an affordable price range for your family and possible for you to get to (you will have to travel to and from each semester and flights etc can add up!)
- Identify all of the deadlines for each school
- Early Action - you will apply earlier and be informed about acceptance earlier
- Early Decision - is a binding agreement that if you get in you MUST attend (only allowed for 1 school)
- Regular Decision - later deadline and spot reduced because of Early Action Seats
2. Identify All Requirements for each school
- Do they require teacher recommendations, an essay (if so see if there is a prompt/question/topic)
- Counseling will be incharge of sending official transcripts but you must request them in Xello.
4. Write a rough draft of your essay
If you complete those steps, you will be in GREAT shape to start Senior Year. Remember, counselors are 10 month employees so they are not at work in the summer. They will be able to help you when school starts back up :) Don't stress, you got this!

Top Tier Driving School
We offer offsite, virtual, and on-site driver education courses. We have experience in the past teaching inside of schools during the scheduled school day.
Learning the right way to drive from a certified driving school and the instructor is now more important than ever. With more cars on the road, busy highways, the rise in distracted driving, and with vehicles with more technology and features than ever before, having the core driving skills is essential to being a safe and effective driver.
"According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), teenage drivers are four times more likely to be involved in a car crash than adult drivers. Traffic crashes are the #1 cause of death and injury for people ages 16-20, with more than 5,600 teens dying in motor vehicle collisions each year. Problems which contribute to the high crash rate of young drivers include: driving inexperience, lack of adequate driving skills, risk taking, poor driving judgement and decision making, distraction, alcohol consumption and excessive driving during high risk hours (11PM-5AM)."
Ultimately, driving is a pertinent life skill. Adequately preparing high school students with life skills prior to high school graduation statistically increases their success in adulthood. Our driver's education services could have a positive impact on the success of your students!
We are currently offering promotional rates for students who enroll when mentioning this promotion. Tell them you were referred by Chesapeake high school and you will only have to pay $315 instead of $350!
