Permenter Longhorn Check-In
Week of January 16-20, 2023
A Note from the Principal:
We continue to transition to a new semester with high expectations, clear standards for teaching and learning, and a decreased tolerance for distractions that negatively impact the learning environment of others. I hope you share in our commitment to ensure our main focus is on: scholar achievement, scholar safety and scholar social and emotional well being.
A few reminders and announcements:
- An email was sent to all parents and scholars on 1/03/2023 that provided the recording of the digital town hall meeting as well as new practices beginning the first day of the spring semester.
- Please let me know if you did not receive this important email with the recording of the meeting and I will resend it to you.
- We had our middle of the year NWEA MAP testing this week. Due to some internet challenges the first half of the week, scholars who were unable to test will have opportunities this week to complete those very important assessments. If you are unsure if your scholar completed all testing, you can contact Mr. Linthecum via email at sherwin.linthecum@chisd.net for clarity.
- We will welcome rising 6th graders from our elementary feeder campuses this Tuesday. We look forward to giving them a preview of the many positive aspects of Permenter Middle School.
- Our qualifying scholars will compete in the district's spelling bee this Thursday and we wish them the very best! I am confident they will represent our campus well.
- School attendance is parament to your scholar's success. Please be sure they are coming to school everyday to maximize their learning.
- While we are at the beginning of a new semester and grading cycle, please check your scholar's grades regularly and reach out to teachers with questions and concerns.
- If you would like to volunteer to serve our campus, please click here.
Faithfully,
Dr. Lemons
Principal, Permenter Middle School
Lunch Reminders for 2022-2023
There is no longer universal lunch for all. Scholars must now pay for lunches if they do not receive free or reduced price lunch. We encourage everyone to complete the lunch application listed below.
- Universal breakfast for all
- Lunch Application for all
- My Payments Plus for Lunch Payments
- Permenter lunch menu for the week of January 16th
- MyPayments Plus is now configured to accept payments for fees associated with ID badges. The system won't accept balances accrued before the setup, but it can accept payment on fees moving forward.
- Continue to be mindful that there is no on-campus supervision before 8:15 AM or after 4:45 PM. Please ensure your scholar is not on campus outside of those time frames in the best interest of their safety.
A Note from CHHS Athletics:
Dear Scholars and Parents:
We want to ensure all scholars have the opportunity to take part in all events across the district. To ensure scholars are admitted into all athletic events at Cedar Hill High School, all scholars must present a non-torn digital ticket and their current school ID at the student gate. Additionally, all elementary and middle school scholars must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entirety of the game. These scholars will enter through the general admission gate. All scholars are welcome to attend and we hope they come to support all of our Longhorn scholar athletes!
