Things to Know:
OPEN HOUSE. Thank you for joining us at Ben Hem last night! We were thrilled to see our families touring the school, engaging with faculty, and learning more about the daily experiences of our students. The positive energy was contagious, and we appreciate your participation in this community event.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE MORNING DROP-OFF LINE.
Our morning drop-off line relies on the support of parents in our community. In October, we are looking for 4th-grade parents to assist students as they exit their cars and get to the right place. Live drop-off starts at 8:05 AM, and volunteers are asked to be here between 8:00 AM and 8:20 AM. Sign up here!- COMPOSTING AT BEN HEM: We are excited to announce the launch of our composting program in the cafeteria! Amber Keller, Natick's Waste Reduction Coordinator, conducted a baseline audit of our waste. As part of our composting efforts, out of the 142 pounds of total waste generated in our lunchroom, 32 pounds will be sent to the incinerator. This means that 110 pounds (including liquids, compostable materials, and share table items) have been diverted from the incinerator. This is fantastic news, and we are confident that we will continue to improve!
Total Waste: 142 pounds
Amount Sent to Incinerator: 32 pounds
Amount Diverted from Incinerator: 110 pounds
