Congratulations Rachel Sauvola: Wisconsin Teacher of the Year!
Our NRHS Agriscience Instructor, Rachel Sauvola, is a 2025 Wisconsin Teacher of the Year!
Her impact on students comes alive beyond the walls of her hands-on classroom as she guides students through successfully managing an animal lab, aquaculture lab, and a greenhouse thanks to Rachel’s vision of a school farm where students could take their learning even further.
At her core, Rachel is a life learner and engaging educator, but what she gives back makes her an outstanding educator, community collaborator, and national champion to thousands.
Congratulations, Rachel!
Congratulations on Your Retirement!

What's Happening in Tiger Territory?
Hillside Elementary
Each year, our SDNR Elementary Schools participate in a Career Day, where students get to learn from various members of our community, about their chosen careers. At Hillside this year, students got to hear about medical careers including nursing, radiologic technology, athletic training, orthodontics, and even veterinary science. Additionally, students met with employees from Johnson Motors, NP Design and Photography, WESTconsin Credit Union, Papa Murphy's, and so many more. We even had our NRHS Agriculture Instructor, Rachel Sauvola, come and talk to students about her job as a teacher. Everyone learned so much from each other. Connecting with the community is a fun way to engage our students! Thank you to all who participated in this year's Career Day!

New Richmond Middle School
Our New Richmond Middle School 6th graders are once again enjoying Camp Wapogasset. Sixth-grade Camp has been a tradition at NRMS for 45 years! While it has changed over the years, students enjoy opportunities to participate in classes inside and outdoors at Camp Wapogasset. The Camp Wapo experience is considered to be a unique opportunity for students and staff to interact with nature in an outdoor setting. The Camp Wapo field trip is planned as an outdoor educational experience to give students first-hand exposure to many environmental concepts and ideas that have been learned in the classroom throughout the year. In addition to interacting with nature, this field trip opportunity provides for social interaction with those attending the camp experience.
New Richmond High School
NRHS students performed at the annual Jazz Concert in the High School Auditorium earlier this month. Performances by the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz Band were exciting and showcased a variety of talents.
From fun songs like, "Shoo Fly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdy" to the classic, "Pick Up the Pieces," the Vocal Jazz Group didn't disappoint with their tight-knit harmonies. The Jazz Band wailed on their tunes which included favorites such as, "Blues in the Closet," "Cubano Chant," and "Cold Duck Time."
Showing true support for our students and the fantastic music just performed, audience members leaped to their feet in a standing ovation to end this amazing concert.
