Glenn Public School Eagle Post
September 2024
Superintendent's Nest
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!
I truly believe “Readers are Leaders!” Each month every student will receive a FREE grade appropriate book to help build their in-home library. Having access to quality, high interest books assists students in their reading journey. Students should be reading 15-20 minutes every day. I have been given a scholarship from The Sons of the American Legion in South Haven to help fund this program. However, I am still in need of monetary donations to help continue providing FREE books to students each month this school year.
I would like to invite everyone to our monthly school board meetings which occur the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:30pm in the Multi Purpose room. This is a great way to stay in the loop with our policies, procedures and inner workings of the school.
Enjoy these last few days of summer! Fall is right around the corner.
Sincerely,
Jamie Walle
Superintendent/Principal

Mrs. Stivers
This is my 8th year teaching kindergarten at Glenn Public School.
You’ll probably find me jamming out to Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift when I’m not at school.
The way to my heart is baked goods and ice cream!
I love to hang out with my family and cuddle with my adorable pets.
I married my best friend, Colin, 4 years ago. We are so excited to welcome our first baby boy, Jameson, this winter! Wish us luck as first time parents!
Ms. Cook
I graduated from GVSU with a major in English/Elementary Education. I taught 4th and 5th grade for 5 years. Once I had my first son, I decided to stay at home and continued to do so until all 3 of my kids were in school. I was then the Reading Interventionist for 3 years before moving to Glenn. This is my 2nd year teaching at Glenn.
My 3 kids are growing too fast! Eli, my oldest, is starting his 1st year at GVSU. Ben is in 10th grade this year and he will start driving soon. Grayce starts 5th grade at the Middle School and loves to play softball and soccer.
I enjoy anything outdoors but especially like hiking and camping. I look forward to another great year at Glenn!
Mrs. Bain
I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and recently earned my Teaching Certificate. I worked for the last seven years at Hamilton Community Schools in a variety of roles including substitute teaching, classroom aide, and school librarian. This is my second year at Glenn and I am excited to be working full-time teaching art, physical education and as our ELA/Math Interventionist. I was originally drawn to Glenn for its focus on creating lifelong learners and commitment to a nature based education.
I live in Hamilton with my husband Milton, and son Zachary, who is a freshman at Hamilton High School. My family also includes two adult sons (who live out of state), two crazy beagles (Buddy and Cooper) and the family cat (Cow). I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, gardening and crafts of all kinds.
Ms. Walle
I graduated from Bloomingdale High School, then I went on to Lake Michigan Community College, and graduated with a Bachelor's from Grand Valley State University in Physical Education with an Elementary Minor. I then achieved my Master's in Educational Leadership. I've worked at Glenn School in multiple capacities including PE teacher, After School Coordinator, Instructional Aide, and Upper Elementary Teacher.
I love hosting family and friends at my house for get-togethers because I enjoy cooking for everyone. I enjoy spending time with my fiancé (Ray), son (Seth) 3 nieces (Norah, Zoey, Eliianna) and 1 nephew (Griffin).
I chose to come to Glenn School because of the small town community. The small class sizes helps me get to know all of the students and their families.

Ms. Parkhill
I am Angela Parkhill, and I love being a teacher! I love kids and having the privilege to actively participate in their academic career, and I love just getting to know each one individually and what makes each one amazing. I have been teaching for over 10 years, and this is my 3rd year at Glenn. I recently moved to Fennville with 9 dogs, one fluffy cat, and my 20 chickens. I have 3 wonderful children! My son, Calvin, is 21 years old, my daughter, Abi, is 19 years old, and my daughter, Andrea is 17 years old. They keep me busy!
I attended Grand Valley State University. I received my Bachelors of Art in Elementary Education with additional endorsements in English Language Arts and Spanish. I believe it takes a community to raise a child and welcome volunteers because we love to show our learning and to have lots of student support and opportunities of learning. I am thankful to be in our Glenn Family.
Ms. Larabel
I have been working with kids for ten years. I obtained my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lake Michigan College and I am currently attending college to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education.
I am the oldest of three children and I am the mother to three children. My children are Dylan (17), Sydney (12), and Abby (11).
In my spare time, I like reading, completing puzzles, going kayaking, fishing, and playing pool. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family.
My favorite subjects to teach are Spelling and Reading.
Mrs. Jesser
I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Business. Later I returned to GVSU to obtain a second degree in Language Arts with a minor in Elementary Education.
I love Glenn School because of the family connection. My grandma attended as a child, then three of my four boys attended Glenn School as well.
Ms. Kerr
I have been teaching music for over 40 years.
I graduated from Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois and also studied at American Conservatory of Music and continues to attend trainings for Orff, Level 1 & 2.
In the past, I was the front for an all female band, Ira Gobu, and had a recording contract with RCA Records. I've also had music featured in TV and film.
I choose Glenn because my family built a home along the lakeshore where we came to visit in the summers. My son, Dave, and their relatives enjoy splashing in Lake Michigan.
Mrs. Null
I have been an educator for 24 years, including 18 years at Glenn School. I was a lead classroom teacher 2003 to 2017. Currently, I am the Special Education Teacher.
I continue to work with kids because I loves it and enjoy helping them become lifelong learners.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, kids, and 7 grandkids.
Ms. Victoria
I am the Before and After School Care Coordinator. Being able to spend time with and take care of the kids brings me joy.
I am from Fennville. I am from a family with three siblings and have a group of nieces and nephews. I love spending time with them whenever possible.
Ms. Cate
I started working at Glenn School in 2018. It drew me in with it's charming building, welcoming people, and the supportive atmosphere.
You can find me in the office answering phones and handing out Band-Aids, sometimes I get out into the classrooms to substitute teach. In the Spring, I am a coach for Total Trek Quest through Arbor Circle, where I get to spend time with Upper Elementary Students teaching them about running and healthy choices.
In my free time, I will be spending time with my 13-year-old daughter and our 14-year-old dog, reading a book, enjoying the beach, eating some chocolate, or watering my plants. (Or any combination of those activities.)

I'm a mom of 2 sons and one daughter, 26, 24, and 21. My youngest son and daughter went to Glenn and had the most memorable and great time here. I enjoy traveling, finding a new adventure and time with friends and family. I've been on the board for 2 years and love being able to see the wonderful changes that have been made and continue to be made.

I am a Business Development Manager and Sales Engineer for North America, Extruded Plastic Sheet Products. I attended Davenport University for Sales and Marketing. I've worked in Operations and Sales for 36 years. I also served 10 years in the US Air Force, both active and reserve, before returning to Michigan.
I am married with two children, and a grandchild with two more on the way. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my family, boating, bicycling, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
I found himself at Glenn School because my wife and children all attended. My family and I have been involved with the school for many years in various capacities. When the opportunity came up to learn more about the inner workings of the school and to serve in a larger role, I was very excited. I find the staff are vibrant, focused group of people to work with. I appreciate the expertise and dedication of all staff members and the way the students are cared for continue to inspire me.

I have lived in Glenn for almost 9 years, and the surrounding area for many years. I have an associates degree from Lake Michigan College. I am the office manager at Brush Enterprises, my husband’s repair shop in South Haven. We also run a small farm at our home. We’ve got about 70 cows, 50 chickens, and a few pigs. During market season (April through October) you can also catch me at the Farmer’s Markets (South Haven and Portage).
I have 3 wonderful children. My oldest joined the marines, and just began his second year. My daughter just started her junior year at South Haven High School. My youngest is Parker, he is in 3rd grade this year, and moved up to the upper elementary class. He is the reason I came to Glenn. Outside of work and markets my kids keep me busy with sports: soccer, basketball, and baseball. I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Glenn is such an amazing place with a sense of community that can’t be found elsewhere. You can find me on field trips, at the school, at PTC meetings, at board meetings (which I encourage everyone to attend) and hot lunch Fridays (a favorite!), and just in and out randomly. Please come say hi, always. I’m not just a board member, I’m a parent as well!
