Growing Together
A note from your Principal
How did we get to November already? I will say, November seems to be a month of gratitude and I want to take this opportunity to share some things I am grateful for. First, the amazing coordination and support of Bingo Night tonight- THANKS Mrs. Shawney Pace! Next, our students and staff who brought such positive energy to Character Counts! days and especially Mrs. Shepherd for all she took on to coordinate all the fun and learning!
How about you? Let someone know you appreciate them... even when it's not Thanksgiving time.
In gratitude always,
Dr. Judd

Many Science Club students got to participate in "A Day in the Life (ADIL) of the Indian River Lagoon" They got to participate in an experiential research program, collecting water quality data and conducting biological inventories along the 156-mile stretch of the Indian River Lagoon (IRL). Clark science students took part in this hands-on field experience, measuring chemical, physical, and biological parameters to understand how their local section of the estuary contributes to the larger ecosystem. Collaborating with environmental expert Mike Yustin from the Environmental Resource Division, Martin County BOCC, students learned the importance of the IRL and how scientists collect and analyze this data to monitor the estuary's health. This program is sponsored by The Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA).

Weekly Tidbits- 10/21-10/25
Today is Make a Difference Monday. Do you like kids or want more experience working with kids with special needs? If so, the ESE Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Citrus Grove would love to have your help for even an hour a week. Seems like a great way to earn service hours and truly make a difference! Sign up by emailing the teacher. Her email is in the weekly enews.
Today is Take Care Tuesday and this time of year can get very hectic and busy for everyone. A great way to take care of yourself is to minimize stress by using a planner or checklist and reminder system so you don’t fall behind or miss important deadlines.
Today is Way to Go Wednesday OOPS- It was missed this week. Stay tuned!
Today is Think about it Thursday. Today let’s stop and really think about the pillar of the month which is respect. Are you being respectful by listening to your teachers? Keeping side conversations to a minimum in classes so your peers can study or focus or complete work? Are you following rules meant to keep this a setting full of kindness for others? It’s time to stop and think about how you can be more respectful on a daily basis.
Today is fun fact Friday. Today is the beginning of Mexican Holiday: Dia De Los Muertos. The Day of the Dead holiday lasts two days and is intended to reunite the living and dead. Families create ofrendas or Offerings to honor their departed family members that have passed. These altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and the favorite foods and drinks of the one being honored. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear their prayers, smell their foods and join in the celebrations!
