Dear Fremont Families,
Fall fun is underway! We look forward to the PTO Trunk-or-Treat tomorrow in our school parking lot. Should be "sweet!"
The next few weeks will be busy! We will have our Halloween parties and our Veterans Day Assemblies. We also will be having our Erin's Law instruction during our Healthy Minds classes. Please see below for more details.

HallowSteam 2024
Mundelein High School will be hosting their annual HallowSteam event at the high school from 6-8pm on Tuesday October 29th. The event is targeted at all pre-high school ages and is a great opportunity for kids and their families to come and do some really fun and educational Halloween themed STEAM related activities at the high school.
Halloween Parties on October 31st
Halloween parties are on Tuesday, October 31st. Party Times are as follows:
- Kindergarten Classes- Martinelli, Lindley & Van Reck @10:30-11:15 a.m.
- Kindergarten Classes-Eddy, Kastein, Goldman, Hay, Hoehne, Perna & Sherman and 1st and 2nd Graders @2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Three parent Party Hosts will be allowed in the classroom. Parents who have been assigned as Party Hosts should arrive at 10:15 for the a.m. parties and 1:45 for the p.m. parties. All remaining parents who have not been assigned to assist will not be invited to attend the Halloween party. Students will be invited to change into their costume before the party. Please send in a costume students can change into by themselves. Please keep in mind appropriate costumes for a school party. Violence should not be depicted in any costume. Makeup, masks, and weapons are not permitted at school.
If your child is unable to participate in the Halloween activities, please let your homeroom teacher know. We are happy to plan alternative activities to ensure that all children enjoy the day!
K-2 Veterans Day Assembly on November 11th
Fremont Elementary School will be having a Veterans Day assembly that includes songs, poems, and stories performed by students to honor those who are currently serving or have served in the military. It will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 in the Elementary School Gym at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. If you have a veteran OR someone on active duty in your life that you would like to be honored, please fill out the following survey by clicking here.
Who is Invited: Any family member or friend who is a veteran or on active duty so that we can honor them during this special program.
Erin's Law
All public schools in Illinois are required to provide instruction in grades PreK-12 about sexual abuse prevention, as a result of Erin’s Law (which is an Illinois law).
This topic will be covered in your child’s Healthy Minds class for all full day Kindergarten, First, MAP 1-2, and Second Grade students during the next rotation of instruction.

Please see below for the Healthy Minds rotation schedule for our next rotation. This is the week when each class will be in Healthy Minds class, rather than PE.

Week of November 18: Gallup, McCarthy, Hoehne, Duitsman, Duffin, Lindley, Glogovsky
Week of December 2: Star, Stahoviak, Kastein, Zygmunt, Bonner, Hay, Roebuck
Week of December 9: Price, Stavros, Sherman, Erkman, Leitner, VanReck, Lukemeyer, Eddy
Again, please be sure to print out and return the waiver form to school within seven days of your child's instruction if you DO NOT want your child to participate in these sexual abuse prevention lessons.

Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 25th
Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for the end of November, and we will be using an online scheduling system for parents to sign up. This is the same system used by the middle school. Additional details will be shared via email on November 6.
Student Pick-Up/Drop Off
If you plan to pick up your child early or at dismissal please call or email Aura Perez at aperezcruces@fsd79.org and email your child's homeroom teacher prior to 2:45 p.m (on Wednesdays by 2:15 p.m.) Please note in order to pick up your child from the front office you must do so by 3:00 p.m. (on Wednesdays by 2:30 p.m.) If you need the family sign to display in your car window at parent pick up please let Mrs. Perez Cruces know and we will send one home with your youngest student. Please refer to our Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures for our specific guidelines.
Student Absences
If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please report the absence to the school office by 9:00 a.m. by calling 847-837-0437 option 2. Safety is our number one priority so please help us by reporting as soon as possible. Attendance at school is crucial for your child’s success so every effort should be made to avoid non-health-related absences.
School Lunches
We are going to be phasing out ice cream for sale at the Elementary School. We will begin the phase out by only offering on Fridays. Ice cream is only available to our first and second graders.
Before and After School Care

The Fremont PTO would love to see you at our meetings this year! Meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month in the Middle School Den at 6:00 pm. Our next meeting is on November 20th.
Childcare services for children ages 3+ will be provided at ALL of our upcoming PTO meetings. Please use the form below to let us know if you will be bringing a child to the meeting. It is not required to RSVP; however, we ask that you please do so if you plan to take advantage of childcare. Care will be provided by Fremont Middle School students for individuals ages 3 and up.

HAPPY LITTLE FLAME CANDLE FUNDRAISER

TRUNK OR TREAT
Our Trunk or Treat event is tomorrow, Saturday, October 26th from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
There will be trunk or treating, Duck Donuts, and Julio’s Tacos selling delicious munchies, Raffle baskets to win and, like always, voting for the best trunk!! Raffle tickets will be available for purchase. Cash or Venmo only!

PTO MEMBERSHIP/ONLINE DIRECTORY FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
If you already have an account in Membership Toolkit, thank you for creating and/or updating your Membership Toolkit account last year.
If you don't have an account in Membership Toolkit, set it up now for free! Once you have created an account in Membership Toolkit your child will appear in the online directory immediately (that's if you choose to do so). To create an account, go to fsd79.membershiptoolkit.com and follow the directions in the attached form (Online Student Directory Set Up Instructions 2024-2025).
To gain access to the Online Student Directory your account must be active and you must pay the $15 PTO Membership Family Fee. If you paid your PTO Membership fee through your TeacherEase account before June 15th, your payment has been confirmed and you currently have access to the Online Student Directory. If you didn’t pay your PTO Membership Family Fee before June 15th, you can pay the $15 PTO Membership Family fee thru Venmo @Fremont-PTO; or by bringing or sending the attached form with your cash payment or check made payable to Fremont PTO to any school front office. The option to pay the PTO Membership Fee thru your TeacherEase account is no longer available. Once we receive confirmation of your payment, we will give you access to the online directory. Please note it may take up to one week to be granted access to the online directory.

BIRTHDAY BOARD
Celebrate your Fremont Student's special day! "Happy Birthday, Your Child's Name" can appear on the Fremont Electronic Message Board. Just complete the Birthday Board Request Google Form 2024-2025; or complete the birthday board form and send it back to any school front office with your $5 payment per birthday message.
