Happy "Faux-Friday" BWE,
I'm sure you can feel the excitement brewing! October is a busy season at BWE. There are so many fun things planned for the month! This week our students enjoyed the kick-off pep rally for our annual Boosterthon fundraiser. Each day, students have been provided with updates from the lively Booster team and received incentives for progress toward their goal. Next week is a super busy week! The library is ready to display our Storybook Pumpkin Patch. You still have time to get your pumpkins decorated over the 4-day weekend, if your student would like to participate. Pumpkins are due Tuesday, when we return. Loteria Night is back and the committee has planned a fun Wednesday night of games, music, food, and prizes. We will end the week with our annual Boosterthon Fun Run on Friday. Details for all of these activities are included below, as well as information on our annual Red Ribbon Week, Trunk or Treat and Storybook Parade.
Thank you for being patient with our BWE community as we become familiar with morning car rider expectations. Our video is included again for your reference. Campus doors open at 7:15 to receive students. Car rider staff is on duty form 7:30 - 7:50 to assist our car riders. Instruction begins at 7:55 and students arriving after this time are marked tardy. Thanks for your support in creating a safe and efficient morning arrival for all of our Bulldogs!

Families are invited to support and celebrate our students at the annual fun run, Friday, October 18th. Check in for all guests will be at the gate on the car rider loop. Remember to bring your ID. Our cafeteria will be closed for lunch visitors on Fun Run Day, so that we can efficiently accomodate all of our guests. Grade level run times have been updated below.

Cell phones and smartwatches may be used respectfully and responsibly before school and after school.
Cell phones and smartwatches should not be used to capture video, audio, or images at school or on the bus.
Cell phones and smartwatches should be set on silent mode and kept in backpacks, lockers, or other designated storage areas and should not be visible during school hours including instructional time, reward time, free time, lunch, and in the hallways.
Use of cell phones and smartwatches may be permitted in extenuating circumstances with permission from a staff member. (ex. to notify parent/ guardian of a late bus)
Birthdays are the best days and we love to celebrate at BWE! We do not however, host birthday parties at school. Parents may send gift bags of inedible items (pencils, bubbles, party favors) for students to share with their class. Edible items may be sent, inedible items are preferred. Due to allergies and dietary restrictions, edible items MUST be store bought with a legible nutrition label.
