Back to School Edition
Welcome Back Walker Families!
We at Walker are very excited to start the new 2024-25 school year. We welcome our new families. We are very excited for you to join our school community. Below you will find all the information needed to start the school year. Please make sure to view the school supply lists and register your child for transportation if needed. Also, please carefully read our new drop-off procedures.
The first full day of school for all 1st-5th grade students is Wednesday August 21st.
Kindergarten will have screening and orientation the 21st and 22nd, with the first day of school on Friday the 23rd.
Our office hours for the summer are Monday-Friday; 9AM-1:30 PM.

Walker Curriculum Night- September 10th
Walker Curriculum Night will be held on Tuesday, September 10th from 6:00-7:30. This is a great opportunity for parents to visit the school, meet the teachers and staff, and learning about the curriculum and expectations implemented at Walker. Hope to see you there!
Student Vehicle Drop-Off Procedures
In an effort to increase safety at Walker Elementary School, with cooperation with the Bedford Park Police Department and the Village of Bedford Park, we will be implementing a student drop-off line for all families traveling by vehicles. This drop-off line will be monitored by school personnel, and supported by the Bedford Park Police Department. This line will be available from 7:25 AM to 7:50 AM and is located at 66th place, adjacent to Walker Elementary School. When dropping off students, please proceed to marked area. Drivers will remain in their vehicle, and students will exit out the passenger side of the vehicle. Students will be assisted by school personnel. All families wishing to walk their students to the school, please park your vehicle in the public parking area located on 67h Street in front of the Swanson Center.. Parking on residential streets is prohibited and will be strictly enforced by the Bedford Park Police Department. Please see below for detailed map and instructions. We thank you for your cooperation and support.
PBIS Rockstar Event
We will be having a PBIS Rockstar celebration this Friday the 23rd. During this celebration, students will participate in various water activities as well as a Tropical Sno treat. Please send your child to school with a towel and a swimming suit. Students will wear there PBIS Rockstar Shirts to school. If you are new to Walker, a new shirt will be provided. Also, your child may wear their swimsuit under their clothes for easy changing. Please have your child put their belongings in a plastic bag with their name on it. We will not be applying sunscreen at school. You may apply sunscreen to your child before school or if they know how to apply it themselves, they can bring it to school.

Please utilize student drop of line if dropping off by vehicle. Breakfast begins at 7:30 am. Please enter through door 1.
Dismissal
Students will be dismissed at 2:50 each day.

4th-5th Grade will exit from door 5 (adjacent to playground)
