Principal's Update
Greeting Gator Nation,
These past few weeks have been a roller coaster in emotions and in weather. I hope everyone had a restful break, it was great to greet our Gators back to MSMS after a long time away. They did a great job jumping back into the fold and we also started MSMS March Madness. Our Leadership Team organizes an assembly each Friday in March with some fun "Minute to Win It!" type activities where one student from each TA gets to represent their TA in a friendly competition. Last Friday, was the first in a series of three events...and then the ultimate culmination at the end of the month with the MSMS 8th Grade vs Faculty Basketball Game. A fun tradition we started last year and are looking to continuing! Should be a fun time for all. We have Caregiver Conferences coming up on March 21 and March 22nd.
Finally, the administrative team is working hard with Superintendent Bonesteel to make revisions to our school budget since the budget was defeated on Town Meeting Day. We will work hard to make decisions that have the least impact on our students and adults that support them, however there will need to be changes made. I encourage you to stay engaged and attend the board meetings (in person or virtually) as they discuss different options. I also encourage you to read the Budget website (https://www.mrpsvt.org/budget) and reach out to Libby Bonesteel with questions or suggestions. She's very on top of how the law changes have created the situation we are in.
Tuesday, March 12th Special School Board Meeting: The MRPS Board of School Directors and MRPS Administrators will be discussing possible scenarios to reduce the FY`25 school budget. WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU! Join us in person at Roxbury Village School or virtually via Zoom. Visit https://www.mrpsvt.org/school-board for more information.
Thank you all for your great support of our school.
