November 11th
Happy Friday!
Today is Veterans Day! Today is a special day to remember all of the men and women who have served our country. Happy Veterans Day to you and we thank you for your dedication and service!
Please remember that we DO NOT receive students until 7:00 am. We are having students dropped off as early as 6:20 am. Please refrain from dropping students off prior to 7:00 am. We DO NOT have staff present until 7:00 am nor do we offer before school care. Students may not be on campus unattended at any point as this is a major safety concern.
Please remember that we DO NOT host birthday parties/celebrations at school. This information is detailed within our student/parent handbook. We may recognize children and staff birthdays during morning announcements. Parents or students are not permitted to bring cupcakes, etc. to school to celebrate individual birthdays. Students are asked not to distribute birthday invitations at school and staff should not permit distribution of birthday invitations at any time. Student birthday parties with balloons and favors are not permitted in the classroom or school at any time. Parents may bring (1) prepackaged, store-bought healthy snack during the students’ scheduled lunch block to celebrate a birthday. The snack should be consumed in the cafeteria. Healthy snacks include fruit popsicles, veggies, or fruit. Cookies, cupcakes, and ice cream are not acceptable.
We are excited to welcome you to our holiday luncheons this week on Wednesday, November 16th and Thursday, November 17th. Parents and families may come in during their child's scheduled Thanksgiving lunch time and join our scholars for a feast! The cost of lunch is $4.00. Parents and families should bring the exact cash for payment.
Tuesday, December 6 will become a Remote Learning Day in Fulton County Schools due to a statewide run-off election. The day originally was slated to be an in-person school day. A majority of Fulton County schools serve as polling sites, and this decision will keep students and staff safer. Since the run-off election is expected to draw high voter turnout, there will be a large number of outside visitors to our campuses. The additional traffic can also create campus congestion with packed parking lots, which can affect buses and car rider lanes. All teachers will communicate the remote learning day assignments to students on December 5th.
Our PTA and SGC are excited to partner to host our upcoming Family Movie Night on November 16th. The cost is $1.00, and we are looking forward to seeing you there! Cash only concessions will be available during this event. Volunteers are needed, and you may volunteer by CLICKING HERE. PTA is excited to host their very first general body meeting on Tuesday, November 28th at 6:00 pm. See you there!
November is National Family Engagement Month. Join us for "Family Matters," an exciting event celebrating FCS families and their role in the education and well-being of their students. There will be interactive workshops, hands-on activities, vendors, entertainment, giveaways, food, and a few special guests! Tickets are required per person for entry. Families may attend one or all events at four locations from November 14 through November 17. Please RSVP by November 1. The following schools (with links to Eventbrite) are hosting events for the entire district:
