Principal Message
Dear OLPH School Community,
We are excited to share some joyful news about the leadership transition at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School for the 2025–2026 school year. Mrs. Smith has been appointed as the new principal of Our Lady of the Angels School, and Mme Taylor will be joining the École Père Kenneth Kearns community as assistant principal.
While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, we do so with full hearts and great joy knowing that OLPH will be in wonderful hands. We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Tymko as the incoming principal and Mme Dockery as assistant principal. Their love for Catholic education, joyful spirit, and unwavering dedication to students and families will be a tremendous blessing to our school.
Serving the OLPH community has been an incredible honour. This school is filled with faith, laughter, and love—a true reflection of Christ’s presence in our daily lives. The relationships, memories, and shared moments of grace we’ve experienced here will stay with us always.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support. It has been a privilege to walk alongside you. We leave with joyful hearts, trusting that God will continue to do great things through this beautiful community.
With deep gratitude and joy,
Mrs. Smith & Mme Taylor
Principal & Assistant Principal

Grade 7 & 8 Sport For Life Students Crush the Triathlon!
Dear Parents,
This past week, our Grade 7 and 8 Sport for Life students laced up their shoes, grabbed their bikes, and dove into action for our annual triathlon event! It was a day full of energy, determination, and impressive athleticism as students took on the400m swim, 8k bike, and 4k run course designed to challenge both their bodies and minds.
A huge congratulations to all who participated—you truly earned your celebratory Booster Juice! And a special thank you to the staff and volunteers who helped organize and run the event. It was a fantastic way to celebrate how far our students have come—and just how far they’re willing to push themselves.
Congratulations to our grade level champions:
Grade 7: Madison Biggeman & Sawyer Gaudet
Grade 8: Easton Jensen & Paisley Rudkowsky
Food Bank Fundraiser
Dear Parents,
As we close out our school year, let's all come together one last time to fundraiser for our local Strathcona County Food Bank. Join us in helping to make a difference!
All students will be able to drop off their food bank item(s) into their house bin located by the front office, next week - June 9 to 13, 2025. We will be collecting the donations per House. (see details below)
We also recognize that times are difficult for many of our families, but if you are able to make a donation it would be greatly appreciated. Many of these items can be purchased at discount stores such as Dollar Tree and Dollarama (who carry many name brand products) or if you shop at Save-On also remember to bring in your receipts for our School Council.
Thank you for your generous donations.

Hello Parents and Guardians,
We are looking forward to celebrating our Grade 8 students this Friday! Just a reminder that doors open at 4:15 pm (please use the gym entrance as the front doors will remain locked) and our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30. Attached is a copy of the farewell letter that was previously sent in April.
If students are planning on wearing a special outfit during the school day, we recommend they arrive at school with their outfit already on as we can not guarantee time to change while at school.
Sincerely,
The Grade 8 Farewell Team

Indigenous Map Activity
Dear Parents,
Last week, OLPH staff and students had the opportunity to engage in activities using a giant Indigenous Map set up in the gym.
Staff and students used the map to explore the locations of Residential Schools across Canada, practice using longitude and latitude coordinates, and learn about Canada’s rich Indigenous history.
We hope your child was able to share some of their experiences with you.
Thank you
