Coyote Connections
December 1, 2024
Message from Principal Roberson
As we step into December, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful energy that fills our campus during this special holiday season. It’s a time when we come together as a community to celebrate the joy of learning, the excitement of upcoming holidays, and the bonds that make our Coyote Ridge such a special place. This month, our students will continue engaging in meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity and growth. Alongside their academic achievements, we’re also looking forward to the exciting events we’ve planned to bring our community together. From our Boosterthon Fun Run on this Thursday 12/5, Holiday Concerts next week 12/10 - 12/11, and Winter Class Parties on Thursday 12/19, these activities showcase the creativity and spirit of our students and staff.
We will continue to encourage our students to reflect on gratitude, kindness, and community. It’s a time to celebrate their growth and support their goals, both academic and personal. We’re committed to making every day count by providing engaging learning experiences, fostering a sense of belonging, and helping each child feel empowered to reach their potential. We are a Leader in Me campus! Every month we focus on one of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This month our focus is on Habit #3 - Put First Things First! We use this habit to teach our students to recognize what is important by prioritizing their time and organizing their tasks so they do not have to be stressed. You will receive a newsletter ever month highlighting one of our habits. Please review that and share with your children.
As we celebrate the season, I encourage you to take time to enjoy these moments with your children. Whether it’s attending one of our events, sharing stories of their learning at home, or simply cherishing the traditions that make this time of year special for your family, these experiences are what make this season truly memorable for the kids and for you. Please keep an eye out for updates, and as always, feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas. Your support makes all the difference!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Let’s make this December a time of joy, discovery, and community as we look forward to a bright and exciting new year!

Arrival & Dismissal
Thank you for all of your support with moving to the corner drop off location on the NORTH SIDE.
The bulk of our support is here to open doors, to keep the flow of traffic flowing with maximum effort.
Did you know?
Because PREK is hand-to-hand drop-off, they cannot get around vehicles who park in the car line and do not move all the way forward. It only takes a few seconds to create a line of 10 vehicles which can create unnecessary traffic on Maumee.
Did you know?
Students are not supervised prior to 7:15 am. Please do not park to watch your child and/or leave your child unattended. Our campus promptly opens with staff on arrival at 7:15am. We have observed several students running around without supervision. Feel free to move down to the bend to be the FIRST drop off parent and have an early start in exiting.
ATTENDANCE- Middle of the Year
A Note on Attendance
We care for the health of all of our students and families. We know that illness plays a part in many families, especially this time of year. We saw an incredible amount of absences in the last two months and are here to be proactive with you in sharing communication about state requirements. Some families are already at the LIMIT OF 19 TOTAL ABSENCES for a year. Please note that formal notices are required for Truancy and for Loss of Credit awareness. This is our formal communication that there is a concern to support 479 families at our campus. If you have a special circumstance, please reach out to me. When a family is halfway through the limit of absences, your child will at minimum be required to pass their class for the year to move to the next grade level. When reaching the limit, the attendance committee will schedule an appointment with you to determine the overall academic progress of your child. NOTE: 19 days is equivalent to a full month of missed instruction

Login or create an account with VOLY at https://lewisvilleisd.voly.org/
Helpful tips:
Please be sure Coyote Ridge Elementary is selected for your school. If it is not, we will not be able to see you on our list of approved volunteers.
Note that new fields have been added to the application – if you are volunteering on behalf of a business, civic, or faith-based organization, please be sure to add that information.
Your skill set is asked in order to support classroom instruction, as needed – be sure your skill set is up to date in case we need your particular skills on our campus.
After making any needed changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save application.”
Happy volunteering! 😊

Update from CRE Administration
Effective August 13, 2024, all visitors will be required to show their government-issued ID to the camera prior to entering the building EACH AND EVERY VISIT. Please make sure to plan ahead and have your ID ready for the camera upon ringing the doorbell. Unfortunately, visitors without ID will not be able to enter the building or sign students out even when ID has already been scanned in the system. This does include all volunteers, lunch visitors, room parents, etc. Thank you for your cooperation as we will follow district guidelines to ensure the safety of every student!
Food deliveries from a restaurant or delivery service for students are not permitted under any circumstances. If the district/campus allows lunch deliveries, they may only be made by a student’s parent/guardian unless the parent/guardian has given approval for another designated adult to make a lunch delivery on a specified date and time. Food deliveries must be secured and labeled with the student’s name and grade level as they are dropped off at the office by the parent. Please make sure that any lunch deliveries happen as early in the day as possible so that the office has time to ensure the student is able to access their lunch in time to eat in the cafeteria. Lunch deliveries and lunch visitors will not be accepted during STAAR, TELPAS, or other testing days.
